Title: Best Charlie drumming Post by Voodoo Chile In Wonderland on Jun 1st, 2011 at 5:28pm
Hi there!
This Friday we’re gonna celebrate Charlie’s 70th birthday with a web radio program. We want to put the best drumming by Charlie… Stones or non-stones, also one or two songs of his solo stuff Any suggestions? Julia (the radio programme owner) already suggested “Connection” so that is included… In the same way we have the “Paint it black you devil” in the Flashpoint album, in one track or another we are going to add the “Charlie’s good tonight” from Ya Ya’s Hard decision to make, please help us with this, thanks in advance Note: this is not a Happy Birthday Charlie thread; please use this only to suggest songs for a one-hour radio programme :willya :charlieperv |

"Get Of Off My Cloud" one of the few rock records in the 60's that had the drums as the main instrument in the beginning of a song that was in the Hit Parade.

"Where the Boys Go," while not a classic, is a great example of Charlie's versatility, his ability to assimilate new styles, and his generally badass chops.

Charlie is all over Monkey Man.
I'm glad they picked that tune for the select-a-Stone feature on one of the DVDs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3FUA0Hj7fI |

SHE WAS HOT!! Amazing drums!!!
UNDERCOVER...when you see him play it live, you know it is not just post-production... I don't know how much of the percussion is Charlie...but the drums/brushes and wood blocks etc on SWEETHEARTS TOGETHER ( yes, I am serious) have always sounded smooth and classy. GOMC is another drumming sensation. QQQ...Does Charlie even play on Dirty Work? That production is so ...eh, why even go there...save it for another thread... |
