Jimmy Fallon is giving viewers two more reasons to lose a little sleep in honor of Bob Marley.

Last week, EW’s Music Mix announced that Late Night With Jimmy Fallon would spend this week paying tribute to Marley, with each of the week’s musical guests performing a classic cut by the reggae legend. Ziggy Marley, Chris Cornell, Jennifer Hudson, Jakob Dylan and Lenny Kravitz were already signed on for the salute (which kicks off tonight with Ziggy), and now the show has announced that Keith Richards and Lauryn Hill will both be joining in the fun.

Hill, who has had five children with Marley’s son Rohan, will be the musical guest on Thursday night’s show (May 12), when she is scheduled to perform a pair of songs in an extremely rare television appearance.

Meanwhile, Rolling Stones guitarist and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides star Richards will sit down with Fallon on Wednesday night (May 11) to chat about the movie, his recent best-selling autobiography and the current status of his seminal band.

He’s not currently scheduled to perform, but Richards has a hard time turning down opportunities to crank up his six-string, and considering his enthusiasm for reggae, it seems likely he’ll be tipping his pirate hat to Marley in some fashion.

Who are you most excited about seeing perform a Bob song on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon this week? What tracks should each artist try to tackle? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

It would be better if he played. Seems like Keith just wants to be in the spotlight some more.

I wish there wasn't so much "red tape" or whatever it is about him playing on shows. I guess he only wants to play after much practice and only with the Stones.  (or certain musicians perhaps.)

Jimmy will get some Stones info.

It's going to be a vague answer I bet. The Stones will do a huge press conference to announce the 50th anniversary tour.

Nice!

It'll be good to see actor/author Keith Richards talk movie and book, but it'd be exponentially gooder to see Keef laying down some chunka-chunka with The Roots...

he is not even gonna "croon" and hold the guitar a bit....that is weak. I did not enjoy his last appearance on the show as he was too chummy with "Brother" Fallon.

Yep. One short low-key cameo in four years. He's never off a stage.

The latest betting

1/3 - Fallon will ask him about a Stones tour, and he'll give a cliched response along the lines of 'just waiting for the call' or 'we're talking about it', which will mean nothing but will cause some people to shit liquid with excitement.

7/2 - he'll do a low-profile brief musical guest appearance

100/1 - He'll look doe-eyed into the camera, do the full-scale Hollywood/Hugh Grant style cringeworthy apology for 'Todgergate', and the next day's papers will have headlines that will read "Keith Says Mick Is Hung Like A Donkey - Stones Tour Back On".

Wonderful. He's barely written more than 5 songs released by the Stones in 15 years and so he's decided to devote his writing energy to a solo record.

Guess a new Stones record is a million miles away, especially with a Some Girls deluxe and another greatest hits release both on the near horizon  :forfucksake

Nice appearance, despite Fallon's fanboy gushing.
As advertised, Keith plugs the film and book, which is now out in paperback.

Nothing new to report with the Stones, and his recent recording is "probably" for the Winos - "it's starting to blossom."

Watch the interview here.

Thanks so much for the link. I couldn't stay awake long enough to watch last night.  Very entertaining.  Fallon is obviously a HUGE fan.  I was glad his main focus on the book seemed to be the lighter aspects and photos.  Keith was charming and the trailer from the next Pirates flick was fun.  Seemed to be a well rehearsed response to whether or not they would tour again.

Bring on the Winos, I say. My hunch, for years, is that Keith just doesn't write "Stones" music anymore. ... He's all about "You Win Again," "The Nearness of You," etc. And so it's been left to Mick to do the "imitation riffs," as Keith put it in "Life."

We shall see. Still theoretical at this point.

I get the impression that the Jimmy Fallon show is fairly lightweight, so it was befitting that Keith’s appearance had a loose, carefree feel to it. Leave the more serious interviewing to the likes of Andrew Marr.

It’s Keith Richards. I enjoyed it.

It was a joke he told - it went something likes this...

Doctor: 'I have some bad news regarding your test results'
Patient: 'What is it?'
Doctor: 'You have 10'
Patient: '10 what? Years, months, weeks, days???'
Doctor: Looking at his watch and counting out loud 'No, 10, 9, 8, 7....'

I could have done without all the Beatles/Macca questions, but Fallon can't help himself
He's one of us; a Stones lunatic. He gushes and acts all giddy just as one of us would.

Sad to say that age is showing though. It's showing on Mick too in recent pics.
IF the Band is done I refuse to believe it's because of some damned book.
It's because, imo, of the dimished ability/desire to do it anymore.

Do I want to be proven wrong?
Damn right I do.
Will I sell everything I own to get a ticket to another show?
Fuck yeah.

My own flickering candle is now so close I can feel the heat, so can agree with you there, LJ.  Have to disagree on one point though.  I think the only age Mick is showing is in his face.  He can still more than hold his own on stage, as evidenced by his salute to Solomon Burke.  Now whether than can be sustained for an entire show might be debatable, but I think he could do it.  And I think the book will have something to do with it - at least in Mick's mind.  Understandably so.

I would be more than happy if the guitar players would remain seated and Mick would plant himself in front of a microphone and STAY there.

Woody is looking and sounding great, as is Charlie.  Keith really is the question in my mind.  And as I've said before, if it means they live longer, happier, healthier lives by not touring - then I say hang it up, boys.

I really hope you do get to see them one more time, but unless they bring in Mick Taylor and others of his caliber to guest for different legs of the tour, I'm through.  My money tree died.

Peace out.

Haven't been around the board for a while (my happy birthdays to all I missed here boys and girls) but Keith's appearance in that TV show lured me back in 8-)

Can we all take one deep breath and relax a little? Sometimes it feels like we're acting as if we own Keith and the Stones, as if we have cameras following them and know or expect their every move. Do we know whether Keith has already worked on Stones songs? Or is it forbidden that he or Mick or any of the Stones should work on other projects? Are we there to know whether he has tried contacting them or not, and whether working with e.g. the Winos is a little easier, with less logistics involved and more fun? Charlie's got his jazz band. I think these kinds of things give them air. If anything, they're good news for the Stones as a band, not bad.

And yes, time has passed, and they're not getting any younger, and the end may very well be near.
But really, is it this important? They've given us great music to last two lifetimes - do we really need another album? What, to go over it and say "blah blah, they're not as good as they used to be, blah blah, the last good one was Bridges to Babylon" and so forth? I can just *see* this happening with all the gory detail.

I'm just greatful for the ride. And I hope they still have another tour left in them (and I believe it), just because I'd love to listen to them and see them live one more time. But I don't feel the slightest bit bitter or sad. I think they've earned the right to sit around, grow lemon trees and attend parties and awards.

I think Keith is using Jordan for "Stones" songs and Charlie is busy.

It's all Stones from now on, Steve, Waddy know that too.

I thinking an album as good as Tattoo You too.

Steve, Waddy and everyone, could just help Keith, or just give him songs if he's in that bad shape.

Sweet! It was a real treat to watch him, thanks for posting...

Hope we'll get to see them one more time. But then we're all greedy and we will ALWAYS say "one more time", won't we? If for nothing else than to complain about the ticket prices, the last minute cancellations, the rs.com ripp-offs, the warhorses and the fact that they don't play shows in tiny clubs. ;)

I hope they don't give us another album because all we'll ever do is whinge it ain't another Exile.

As far as we can prove, we only ever get one life and their lives are theirs to live. We are fans and love them, but at the end of the day we can only wish and not demand. And I can honestly say I am a hell of a lot younger than the youngest of the Rolling Stones and the mere thought of a world tour would fill me with dread. I bet they are glad to just wear their slippers at 8pm and be in bed by 10. Rock'n Roll may naver die but we're all getting old, kids. So I say : "Thanks for the music, Boys!" If I get to see them one more time then that's a bonus, but I'm not holding my breath...

As to all the speculations and theories: :nanker

Love and Light to them...

Regarding Keith's comments on a future Wino's album: does anyone here really believe we'll get another Keith Richards long-player? I reckon he's working on a few numbers for the forthcoming Depp-produced documentary, Happy. That seems to be the vibe amongst some over on the Tell Me message board and IMO, the most believable and likely.

Don´t forget that Charlie said in a radio show a month ago that he had been recording with Mick... does he record with Mick outside the Stones? I don´t think he plays on Mick solo stuff, so I guess it myst be Stones related. In the interview he said that the Stones was not together recording Watching the river flow for Boogie with Stu, but he was recording with Mick at the same time he did the vocals for that project???? I think it sounded quite interesting...
