I recently saw Jessie J  on TV in US.  I believe she is from England.  She has Morticia down.  Is her music any good?

FG!

I saw her on a morning show yesterday. Supposedly Justin Timberlake says she's the best there is out there right now. She has the typical "chops" that are required now to be a "singer". Or shouter,  or singer-who-must-hit-just-about-every-note-there-is-every-time-they-sing person. The thing that really bothered me yesterday was the fact that she was flat---each song, and she never could get back on pitch. I don't have perfect pitch {I'm a vocalist as well}, but I do have relative pitch---and I notice {and it really, really bothers me} even the slightest flat or sharp note a singer sings. I could tell she could really sing--she was just flat yesterday.

I'm always trying to imagine how a female vocalist such as Joni Mitchell or Laura Nyro would fair in today's world of screaming, singing so many notes vocalists? Every day I'm SO thankful I grew up with the music I did, in the late 50's, 60's, and 70's! {Ok, so, some of the music of the 80's and 90's...and even today, is good. :) But, you know what I mean... ;)}

I don't like screaming or wailing either.  that is why I like Merry Clayton--she soars on Gimme Shelter, where Lisa Fisher just wails.
