Title: Two Mick Taylor questions Post by StonesFan1990 on Mar 6th, 2011 at 7:35am
1) Who are some guitar players similar in style to Mick?
2) I read somewhere that Mick Taylor based his guitar style on a famous saxophonist--who was this saxophonist? :smilemick |

1) Carlos Santana, who claims Taylor changed his style, and always cites Time Waits for No One as an influence. Try the Santana live album Moonflower.

Guitarists similar to MT:
Peter Green, Albert King, Rory Gallagher, Duane Allman (slide) Just noticed something strange: on iTunes, Too Hot For Snakes (MT/Carla Olson), the last track is "Think I'm Goin' Mad" - same tune from Emotional Rescue sessions. Why would MT care to cover this tune? Surely it wasn't a holdover, ala Tops or Waiting on a Friend? Check it out - it's the last track on the "Too Hot For Snakes (Plus)" album. |
