Rolling Stones Aussie Tour For 2012 Post by: Dave-O 16 February, 2011 - 10:05 AM Rolling Stones We never thought we'd hear this but the Rolling Stones will be celebrating their 50th anniversary next year. And according to Triple M music reporter Nui Te Koha the original bad boys of rock n' roll may grace us with their presence next year with an Aussie tour! "Rolling Stones, 2012. [It] looks like [it will be] stadium shows. They want to play big and they want to go out with a bang," said Nui on Triple M Melbourne's Hot Breakfast this morning. Triple M's Eddie McGuire said that from what he's heard the shows will be massive. "I've heard a few sneaky things about what could be going on. It could be absolutely unbelievable," he said. While, Mieke added she saw Mick Jagger on the recent Grammy Awards and they'd lost none of their magic. "Mick Jagger is still in fantastic form and he was one of the absolute highlights of the Grammys the other night. All the young whippersnappers up there being nominated... he got up there and did his 'Mick' thing. They were in absolute awe," she said. Live Nation Australia look likely to be the promoters of the Australian tour in conjunction with Paul Dainty who has toured them many times. This could be the last chance we ever get to see this giant rock band ever again! |

Maybe they bring the big show here 1st as a warm up for the U.S.? McCartney did that when he came out here - and he admitted as such. That was the Macca tour before the one he pulled out of, claiming he cancelled due to the Bali bombing.

According to Australia's long-running rock station Triple M, VAN HALEN is locking in dates for an Australian tour to support a new album that should be out by August this year.
"VAN HALEN dates are getting locked in. They'll be here with David Lee Roth," Triple M music reporter Nui Te Koha announced this morning on Triple M Melbourne's "Hot Breakfast", "VAN HALEN representatives were here with THE EAGLES during THE EAGLES tour in December." He added: "They're recording a new album at the moment. [Guitarist] Eddie Van Halen says he doesn't want to do any shows until there is new material. And that new material should be out by August." |

I remember catching Daves Vegas show in '95, and I also remember after the show somebody asking me what I thought of it. My response was "That band sounded fucking incredible to me...they didn't miss a beat! They were fucking furious!!"
I've always trusted Roth in all of his endeavors because I regard him as an extremely intelligent person. To this day, I think he's smarter than 80% of the people I've ever encountered. Knowing this, If there IS a new album or tour in the works at all, I have to believe there is some sort of strategy being drawn out. If an army reconvenes with its General after 22 years, it's going to considerably take more than 7 days for everyone to get back on the same page, and for soldiers to get back in line. Look at all the changes that have happened to the music industry in the last 22 years. Look at all the changes that have happened to popular culture in the last 22 years. Hell, look at all the changes that have happened in your life in the last 22 years. There's alot to consider.... The problem is we all live in a microwave society. We want everything NOW NOW NOW NOW! So much so that we oftentimes settle on something that doesn't meet our standards or expectations....as long as we HAVE it, you know? FUCK the quality, just put it out already. If Eddie were to walk into the studio today and recorded a disc that had nothing but him passing gas into the microphone, it would enter the fucking Billboard charts at #5 in its first week and be the most downloaded piece of shit in recent memory. Hell, they'd bring it here and create threads like "Fart No. 37", and in the ensuing 10 pages would be of everyone speculating what he ate to cause him to rip that one. Sounds a bit ridiculous I know, but the fans impatience is their own undoing. Roth doesn't just wander onto the stage at the start of the show, he struts out there victoriously because he's supremely confident in that what he's about to bring to that stage will kick your fucking face in. I trust him and I'm patient, and I'm absolutely positive that whatever music comes out that he's a part of will be lethal enough to knock you dead on your ass just as it always has before, regardless of how long that may take. Nuthin' But Yeah, bitches! -Roth Army |
