drummer for arguably the greatest Aussie band ever Cold Chisel passed away yesterday. He wrote a couple of Aussie classics .. including this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLomJ2m3vI4 Band were about to hit studio for a new CD. :whydontcha |

Poor bugger just got diagnosed 2 weeks ago. Chisel would have most likely played at the benefit show for the floods too.
Not just a very good drummer, but wrote 100% certified Aussie classics. Shit, Flame Trees should be our national anthem (though Khe Sanh is as well). Flame Trees always, always reminds me of when i broke up with my (at the time) 1 true love. It can still bring a lump to my throat. And Steve & Jimmy had some awesome rip-roaring punch ups! God bless him. |

Where can I get the exact same live performance (audio or video) of "When the war is over" as in the clip? I checked AllMusic, but that bit of product eluded them. Clips of "Flame Trees" and "Khe Sanh" from the same 2003 show are on YouTube also. The singer reminds me, pleasantly, of John Fogerty. |
