Title: Yay for Joe Paterno (absolutely no Stones content) Post by nankerphelge on Nov 7th, 2010 at 10:06am
Was fantastic to see his team go out and win him #400 yesterday.
Even if you are not a Penn State fan, anyone that can do anything for that long and still find a way to keep going is amazing to me. What a career. And what a class act...turned down a lot of big money offers for many years to stay right where he is! Yay!! |

and I read something about him speaking to the stadium after the victory, saying to just 'look around, look around' (in reference to everyone asking him how he could keep at it for so long) and then added 'now that the celebration is over, let's beat Ohio State'. One minute of 'celebration' and the guy is back to business. One of a kind, that JoePa.

Yeah, really like Joe. :) Even though I'm a Northwestern fan, Penn State REALLY came back in a decisive way! 400 is a nice, even number. :)

Luxy , it looks like Eleanor Mondale has had a relapse in her battle with brain cancer and is currently undergoing chemo once again ........ very sad . " Mondale is the only daughter of Joan Mondale and former Vice President Walter Mondale. Her older brother is former Minnesota State Senator Theodore A. "Ted" Mondale. Her younger brother is attorney William H. Mondale, the former Assistant Minnesota Attorney General. For her senior year of high school, Mondale attended St. Timothy's boarding outside of Baltimore, and moved to begin a career in Hollywood after graduating St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. 400 wins. Only two other college football coaches have reached that milestone, and none from a major program. It is virtually impossible that anyone else will join that list. JoePa is a national treasure.

I'm a Pitt fan, so its in my blood to hate the guy. Four hundred is incredible, but everybody knows he is only the head coach on paper now. I can't wait for the guy to step down so the best football rivalry in the northeast will start once again. I made a post about Joe Pa without saying fuck him! Wait, nevermind. Honestly, he has been holding Penn State back for the last few years.
