Thanks for the info. I am in London on Wednesday and will hope for the best. Trouble is I can't get to piccadilly until 4pm. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

if you can't get to Piccadilly until 4pm on the 3rd, then you're chances of meeting Keith and getting your book signed are very, very slim to the point of being zero.  :wtf3

Ade , I knew the chance was slim. But Zero! I'm the eternal optimist. Seriously, how would you rate my chances if I made it for 3pm. I'd settle for 20%

having done more than afew book signings of this magnitude at Piccadilly over the years, i estimate to be in the upper echilons of "the 450", you'll need to be in line by 6-7am.
... but, i wish you nothing but good luck and warmest of greetings.

Over on 'Tell Me', he's talking about camping out with friggin' tents!

That's a definite no-no for me, as is queeing from 6 am, to be perfectly honest. A, I don't think I care quite enough and B, there is the queestion as to whether-or-not I could get the leave from work for the day.

From KeithRichards.com

re: London signing

Due to time restrictions, not all of those people will get to meet Keith Richards in person on the day, but everyone who has been issued with a wristband will be guaranteed the opportunity to buy a rare pre-signed edition of Life.

That is total BS...He, like any professional author at a signing, should be there for everyone in line...

I was trying to calculate how many hours he would have to sit there to phsically sign 450 books.  It didn't stack up.  Now we know why!

If he was there for two hours, at two a minute thats 240 people get to meet him. Hence the disclaimer that some of the 450 will miss out.

Things are looking good for Glen. Just heard he got there for 6.30, got a wristband and is no. 114.

Paulywaul got in the queue at 5.10, and Beast at 5.40.  They're numbers 89 and 90. Mr Jimmy's in there somewhere as well.

Seems there are 150 'gold wristbands'.

Life has reportedly sold around 28000 copies here in the UK during its first week. It currently sits at No.3 in the UK Bestsellers Chart, just behind the 2011 Guinness World Records book. Jamie Oliver’s latest cook book currently holds the No.1 position.
