The older I get, the more I can't stand Robert Plant's voice and lyrics. ... I'll always revere Jimmy, however.

Robert Plant wrote some seriously bad lyrics. How many times do I need to hear about Tolkien and the Hobbit? I digress. His vocals were great in Zep from 68 until about 75 and at that point I think the whole band changed and didn't really stay true to their roots. Not that it's their fault. They grew up. Check out Robert these days either solo or the Allison Kraus record. He's really amazing. |

Pagey is just amazing. I'm a huge LZ fan. Robert Plant was on the Today show (???!!!!) this week, and I missed him.

I think Plants voice been gone since 1973.I only listen zeppelin these because of the other guys in the band.Jones&Bonham were a dynamic rhytm couple.Same as Watts&Wyman were. But their music is a bit boring,no variation like the stones have.

Plant was here in Belfast for a gig last Monday.
On the day of the gig he was spotted having a drink at the Merchant Hotel (my local city centre watering hole).....with Jimmy Page. Page didnt join him onstage or anything, however. I was told that the reason for them being together related to a possible business venture and that they were looking at possible locations for a 'Hard Rock Cafe'-type place. The only other thing I heard was that they were drinking half pints of Guinness and the barman insisted they stop acting like a pair of ponces and drink pints instead. Seems a long way from the Riot House and the Edgewater Inn. I dont think they'll ever do a reunion tour. Its been too long, Plant has moved on musically and if the money hasnt tempted him by now, it never will. It would unquestionably be the highest grossing tour of all time and they could name their price, but fair play to him for being able to say no to it. |

Page has now pretty much retired, no? Aside from Zeppelin re-master’s, a boring movie with Jack White and The Edge and the ‘one-off’ o2 reunion, what has he really done of late? If I recall correctly, his last stage appearance was at the Olympics closing ceremony with Leona Lewis – and that was atrocious.
