The Wick and Real Wild Child, I can only pray for your souls that one day you will see the artistic wonderfulness (is that even a word? ;D) that is Johnny Depp.
To start with, his love for Keith is 100% honest - I mean, it's so obvious, it doesn't need much explaning. And that earns him extra points in my book (as if he hadn't enough already!) Secondly, I cannot love him enough for his views, the way he chooses to live, the respect for his family and his superb acting. I'm not gonna hold against him two or three bad role choices the past few years - the fact that he can play in a movie that I wouldn't dream of watching and he's good in it, making it worthwhile, well... Not too many actors can do that. The Pirates films have done him good and bad in various ways - he was more sort of 'underground' before them, but what, can you blame him for being good at what he does? "Pirates" wouldn't have had one sequel if it hadn't been for Depp's Jack Sparrow. |

Depp loves Keith. I don't think he tries to be like Keith in his dress style. I think he wears a bit in ode to Keith's style is all... Depp loves Keith to death. So what? He doesn't try and act cool because he knows Keith he simply is his biggest fan is all is my impression of what's going on there.
When you say he talks like Keith and acts like Keith...well sure he did in Pirates. We all know he modeled his role after Keith. Are you suggesting he kind of purposefully talks and acts like Keith when not shooting Pirate movies??? I find that hard to believe. Ian |

As for what he's doing in London, I think it's quite possible he'll soon be doing some interviews for his autobiography. It's out late October, so if he's going to do any major press interviews for monthly magazines that come out around the same time (eg Uncut, Mojo and the like), they'll usually have to take place no less than 4-6 weeks beforehand. Expect a Keith media overload in the next couple of months. |

I can almost see Mick, especially, saying, yeah, let's try the alternative... That kind of distance is what makes Johnny's admiration of Keith and their easy companionship so appealing. Depp has even made a decent pirate character out of it and put Keith in the films too. I'm not a fan of the series, but hey. I rather like the way they both dress, although I have to admit, Depp's eyeliner is completely derivative, whether for his role or not. Heehee. |
