I must get round to purchasing this album. Slash is one of my ultimate guitar heroes. I remember the first time I heard 'Sweet Child 'O Mne whilst paying attention - well, watched the video, anyway - and it was like a complete and utter smack in the mouth. The denim, the leather, the top hat, the Marlboro's, the Jack Daniels and the Les Paul: things don't get much cooler from Mr. Saul Hudson - and he's from Stoke-on-Trent, too!

Yes, that quite some night. I had been for a drink with 'Stewed and Keefed' - for the first time, in fact - and got a whack walking home. I was wearing a parker jacket and had long hair and thus, it was reason enough to be set upon apparently.  :warhorse

Two-and-a-half years after Velvet Revolver split with singer Scott Weiland, members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner are back in the studio and testing out new singers. In August 2009, Slash said that Velvet Revolver was searching for a new singer, but he wound up focusing on his own solo disc, while McKagan briefly joined Jane's Addiction. Now, according to a MySpace update from Slash, Velvet Revolver has reunited.

"VR is back together jamming, trying out singers. No updates yet. But it's great to hook up with Duff, Matt & Dave after all this time," Slash wrote. Slash's update confirmed what Sorum wrote on his Twitter last month: "Velvet Revolver Jamming in the studio beginning of Oct. Tryin 2 singers. Excited bout that." Prior to the band's hiatus, Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy and Spacehog vocalist Royston Langdon were among those rumored to fill Weiland's spot.

Slas is fucking awesome.  I'm a huge fan.   Been listening a lot to Velvet Revolver lately.   :booze :weed :booze

That solo album with guests is pretty good, best thing he's done since leaving GNR methinks.

For sure. I might even go as far as saying it was the best GNR related project since Appetite. Unlike Axl, Slash let's the music do the talking.
