Post by left shoe shuffle on Jul 18th, 2010 at 8:55pm

SC's album '100 Miles From Memphis' is released this week.
Keith guests on the reggae number, 'Eye To Eye'.

Watch his guitars arrive...

You're being generous. That's 5:33 too long. Absolutely awful, thanks for posting it though. I'm always curious to hear their nonStones collaborations.

OK, I've kind of half-listened. Does anyone care to divulge as to what Keith's contribution actually is? I hear guitar, obvsiously, but it doesn't sound like our man.

Co-producer Justin Stanley says Keith added guitar and vocals.

Kinda hear him on the "na na na" outro...

Sheryl is not in KEEF's league and she never will be. I'm surprised KEEF bothered with her at all. Was she fvcking Eric Clapton for a while?

She pretty much fucked a lot of people for a while. Yeah she got around. But yeah her and EC were real tight for a while. Here is my favorite SC song with EC on guitar and rumour has it the song is about him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZBKDK8ZZT8

Not quite sure I get your point, Bitch - and what's wrong with Eric Clapton?

Nothing's wrong with Clapton! Ok my point was Clapton is a friend of KEEF's, now KEEF is a friend of Sheryls' so that might explain why they know each other. That was my train of thought. Otherwise KEEF would not be bothered since she is not in his league (or Claptons) musically. IMO.

If that was a criteria, then Keith and Eric would hardly ever work with anyone.

Actually, in Keith's case, you may have inadvertently hit the nail on the head....  :D

Jeez, you guys are harsh.
But I agree, about SC not being in the same league. She's kind of lame. Its not about fucking anybody either. I just think she's cute, plays a hummingbird and has declared her love for the Stones/Clapton etc...
The guys are endeared by cute women who sing their praises.
I mean, Patti Smith was fucking obsessed with the Stones and so was Lucinda Williams. But they don't fit the 'cute-chick-with-a-guitar' - the Stone have always been afraid of tough chicks -
yeah, sure, Mick and Keith were fascinated by Anita/Bianca etc....
but as musicians? Nope, they go for the cute chick with beaming, adoring eyes.
Its kind of sexist methinks.

I do not like Sheryl.  I don't even like the way she spells her name.

There is nothing wrong with Sheryl Crow. She's released a few good songs over the years. Problem is, it's all background. You hum along to it on the radio and you hear it in waiting rooms, but not at home on your hi-fi - at least, I don't, anyway.

Always been a fan of SC, that second album was great, actually most were good apart from Wildflower and that last one.

The best song on it is an excellent reworking of TTDA's "Sign your Name", that one really simmers like a good Stones groove, à la  "Out of Control". The rest is boring and the song Keith is on has nothing on it sounding like Keith, it's funny how Allmusic say it takes off thanks to Keith...
