Title: Keith Wants to Record Now? Post by gimmekeef on Jun 5th, 2010 at 11:25am
Richards miffed at Stones delay
By WENN.COM Keith Richards (WENN.COM file photo) Keith Richards is fed up with Mick Jagger stalling the next Rolling Stones album - he wants the band to record new songs as soon as possible. The rockers recently re-released their landmark early 1970s album Exile On Main Street, but Richards is fed up with the frontman putting off plans to work on new tracks. The guitarist is itching to get back into the studio and is desperately trying to find out when Jagger is likely to want to reunite. He says, "I'm trying to find out when it will happen myself. I sent a note to (drummer) Charlie Watts saying, 'Should I put an ad in a music magazine - guitar player for hire?' I've got to do something. "It doesn't matter which band, you have got to have the frontman wanting to do it. You can't shove the lead singer into it. I learned that many years ago. I usually wait for Mick to call me. When he does, it's because he's got an itch and wants to go to work." |

He has a recording studio in his house for sure. Talk is cheap. Record some songs yourself brother!

Title: Re: Keith Wants to Record Now? Post by left shoe shuffle on Jun 5th, 2010 at 11:48am Looks like several outlets have picked up on this "story" in the The Daily Express. Those comments were originally published a while back. Why they're being dredged up now and presented as news is dubious at best. In more recent press he did for 'Exile' Keith mentioned that he'd be seeing Mick (in NYC) and they'd discuss future plans. Hopefully they had that conversation before falling out over Keith's refusal to attend the Cannes premiere of 'Stones In Exile'... ::) |

I saw the documentary "It might get Loud" this week, with Jimmy Page-The Edge-Jack White. I am now willing to admit a Yank into the Core Four, and his name is...
God, if he could stay tasteful and not be a show-off... |

Keith talks about putting an ad in a music magazine as much as he says he's happy to be here.

Where in hell in Keith's quotes can you find justification for the headline?

Title: Re: Keith Wants to Record Now? Post by left shoe shuffle on Jun 6th, 2010 at 2:19pm Same place you'll find justification for the article. It's just the latest print version of "Telephone". The Daily Express lifted quotes from USA Today, with no attribution. Conveniently omitted was Mick's comment, "I've been writing a lot of stuff. I'm definitely in the mood." Then contactmusic.com lifted The Daily Express article, also with no attribution. They sensationalized it to note that Keith was "fed up" with Mick - and included a picture of Keith and "guest" arriving at the 'Stones In Exile' NYC premiere. Now news outlets from Argentina to Zimbabwe - literally - are reporting it. Can't wait until they get hold of the story that Keith Richards needs hip replacement surgery... |

THIS STORY IS USELESS. It seems to me that if KEEF wanted to record, he would just do it, he needs no permission from anyone! KEEF can record whatever he wants whenever he wants to. MICK would certainly not try to stop him, because when they get together for the next album, they always say 'what do you got?' to each other and ask the other person's opinion on their material. If it's 2 thumbs up, they finish it off together. Thats what I've always read has happened in the past so why would it change at this point?
