Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by LadyJane on May 2nd, 2010 at 9:25pm
I really doubt it's serious.
He didn't look too good in the pics from his last show. Looks tired and a little puffy in the face. Poor guy. Fuck LJ. |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by Mel Belli on May 2nd, 2010 at 9:50pm
Gotta admire his desire to tour—and on an aggressive schedule, at that.
Selfishly, I've got a conflict and couldn't make the 5/12 show in Northern Va., but I hope he gets well quickly. |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by left shoe shuffle on May 2nd, 2010 at 9:54pm Multiple nights in a row, shows on opposite coasts on consecutive nights. That schedule is punishing... |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by SweetVirginia on May 3rd, 2010 at 5:24am
Darn it. I hope he can recover from this. I think it was some lung issue like pleurisy that cancelled those shows last year.
We are supposed to see him Wednesday night. :( Get well, Mick! |

Pneumonia, according to a post I read elsewhere. Poor guy never seems to have any luck. The Exile reissue wont have done any harm in giving him a bit more public recognition and now this happens. Get well soon, Mick. And stay off the road until you're much better. |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by gotdablouse on May 3rd, 2010 at 11:23am
Indeed, well normally pneumonia can be cured well these days, unless there are other conditions.
Repeated listens to Plundered My Soul renewed my appreciation of MT's playing and contribution to the Stones. Stating the obvious but with his departure now 35+ years away, many lackluster projects under his belt, in spite of all the "bring MT back" hand waving, we didn't really know what we were missing. Even seeing him live at the Mean Fiddler in 1992 and playing CYHMK didn't take it to that level... |

Go have a margarita or two and jam on w/ your iPod!!! EDIT: On MT's website...all shows show "POSTPONED"...not just he ugly "CANCELED"...so look for updates!!! |
|
Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by left shoe shuffle on May 4th, 2010 at 11:46am That info isn't from MT's "official" site - http://micktaylor.com They've yet to post any updates... BTW, Sellersville Theatre website lists tonight's show as canceled. |

Despite appearances to the contrary, I think micktaylor.com is not official. micktaylor.info should have the best info: Tue 04 May 2010 News update: Mick fell ill after he performed in Shirley, MA. No shows can take place in the next two weeks as Mick will be receiving medical care in hospital micktaylor.net is run by a fan with info from insiders In any case, I hope Taylor recovers his health. |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by SweetVirginia on May 4th, 2010 at 11:51am
I just spoke to BB King's and they said it is not officially cancelled yet, but they expect it to be. He said they'll know by late this afternoon. I'll post again after I talk to them later.
Bummer. Get well, Mick! |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by LadyJane on May 4th, 2010 at 12:11pm
What a damn shame.
Shows have been getting great reviews, there is renewed Stonesian interest due to EOMS reissue and now this set back. I feel so badly for this man and wish him well. LJ. |

Sadly, I'm not surprised that the "official" site might not be. A single page that doesn't even list the full tour sked... Shows be damned. Continued best wishes to MT for a complete recovery. |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by SweetVirginia on May 4th, 2010 at 3:24pm
BB King's is hoping for a rescheduled date....but they do not have one at the moment.
I'm just hoping Mick T. feels better soon. You're right, LJ...what a shame that he can't be actively touring during this exciting EOMS time. :smilemick |

I'm doing OK - Kind of bummed out about this being the 3rd time Mick T canceled a show I had tix for. I think I shall ban myself from now on. Well, there's always Exile Week! |
|
Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by SweetVirginia on May 4th, 2010 at 8:17pm
Awwww, Scope. In spite of the grief that we gave you yesterday, you are not to blame. You couldn't possibly have had tickets for all the shows that MT has cancelled in the past few years!
We'll just have to have even more fun at Fallon. xo SV |
|
Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by Bitch on May 5th, 2010 at 6:09am
Well BB Kings still has Mick T on tonights schedule and TM is still selling tickets so did someone not get the memo? I wonder if and when Mick T's camp will notify the venues and TM to cancel the shows! WTF???
:smilemick |

Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by SweetVirginia on May 5th, 2010 at 6:32am
That's strange. Yesterday the website showed "postponed" and listed the free band that's playing in Lucille's. They also said on the phone it was postponed. Now the website has been changed back to show Mick T playing.
|
|
Title: Re: Mick T hospitalized. Post by Bitch on May 5th, 2010 at 7:35am
No it's not strange. The show is on at BB Kings! BB Kings website says tonight's show is still on, featuring THE MICK TAYLOR BAND. Not MICK TAYLOR as previously stated. So I guess the band will play without Mick T and maybe we wont be getting a refund. Not sure about the refund part but apparently there will be a show at BB Kings tonight, with or without Mick T.

Thanks, great way to celebrate !
Didn't know he'd tried to record a second solo album in 88, "Stranger in this Town" came out in 1990 I think and it was mostly (all ?) live. |

I have a live version of "Soliloquy" from Philly '97. Beautiful song! Hey ... maybe there's an idea for the next guitar vid.
