Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood To Host Weekly Radio Show
On Absolute Radio...

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is to present a weekly radio show on Absolute Radio.

The Ronnie Wood Show will broadcast on digital station Absolute Classic Rock on a Friday night at 6pm and be repeated on Absolute Radio every Saturday at 10pm.

The radio station said the guitarist would play music “straight from his heart”, as well as share his “uniquely fascinating stories, experiences and memories” with listeners.

Tony Moorey, the Absolute Radio content director, told The Guardian: "Think fantastic music, and one man and his guitar in your living room, but that man being one of rock's gods, Ronnie Wood.

“It's not often that we have a genuine opportunity to strike a radio relationship with a rock legend ... The Ronnie Wood Show is that opportunity."

Wood's programme, to be produced by independent production company Something' Else, will begin on April 9.

I can just hear Ronnie now, slurring his words............

Makes a change I suppose from the Ronnie Wood Show, which is a daily car crash thats been featuring in the tabloids for the last two years.

Sounds like it could be interesting if he stays interested in it for long enough...hopefully it won't be sponsored by Absolut Vodka...

So i guess the band aint gonna be doing anything for awhile.

really looking forward to this - i expect it won't be essential listening, like his Bobness' show,) but it should
be interesting listening, never the less....bit of a coup for the excellent Absolute (but, not, obviously, as good as Radio 6)

Hope it's torrented as i doubt i'll be able to tune in every friday/saturday at the alloted time.

Dylan's done a radio show while having been on the road for a couple of years now, so no reason why a member of a band that plays 2-3 shows a week when they ARE on tour shouldnt be able to do both at once.

I doubt this is a long term commitment, though.

Ronnie's deal is for 52 weekly one hour shows, according to Broadcast Now.

Thing is he could also do those in a few weeks, way in advance - in case he had anything else lined up in that time.

Good that it'll keep him occupied.

Ko Melina from the Dirtbombs, does a show every weekend on Sirius 25 from the road all the time...all you need is a laptop and you are good to go.
