Title: Any chance to hear Emotional Rescue live?
Post by real wild child on Mar 30th, 2010 at 3:35pm
Why they never play it live? The main reason is Mickīs voice, itīs difficult for him to maintain the falsetto for almost 3 minutes,I donīt know Iīm just guessing, whatīs your opinion??? Mick did the falsetto in the Licks and Bigger Bang tours singing Worried About You but he only sang two verses.Maybe Bernard can do that part,he deserves to do a solo.Lisa has Gimme Shelter and Night Time is The Right Time even Chuck has a solo in Hony Tonk Women  :Youmakeagrownmancrylikejoey

Anyone know if they played ER in a rehearsal???? :wtf3

I remember hearing they rehearsed it for Licks or Bigger Bang.  I think Mick thought it was too slow to play live, and his falsetto would be hard to duplicate (but Worried About You comes off well live).

I know you and many like this song. i have never really cared for it as always considered it a bow down to the BeeGees disco crap. For me there are so many other unplayed gems I would hope for first. But your opinion I know is shared by the Emotional Rescue club here. heck lets just hope for another tour to find out!

Cant imagine it ever being played. The falsetto is very hard to pull off live and is beyond his vocal range these days unless he screeches.

Dont think it would really work in a stadium either.

I thought we all agreed no more stadiums! Don't let Cohl see this post he'll get the wrong idea.....

I have always thought they should play ER. It was a huge hit for them and having never been played live would be a huge crowd pleaser.

You know in hindsight maybe a live version would sound different. Look at all the others live that sound so much better than the studio versions..

Hip-hop remake time!

Mick Jagger with Timbaland and Ludacris!

It would be the new "Walk this Way."

It will be the final encore of their final show before the final bow, thanks.

Any chance to hear Emotional Rescue live?

Thankfully, there is absolutely NO chance of that happening.

It's clearly a fake since JC is alive and well and posting. :pukey

I'm not sure about the Turin shroud. I'm skeptical, though.

The Bermuda triangle, though, I totally go for that. In the 70s it was all the go. You'd hear all these stories about planes and ships disappearing.

You don't ever hear about the Bermuda triangle anymore.

It seems to have COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED.

Now that, my friends, is spooky.

ER came on the radio the other day. I totally freaked out my wife when I sang it word for word.

Hard to pull it off live methinks, unless they "pad it" with some keyboards, ABSMBaby never worked well and it was faster.
