Though it seems sort of ridiculous to close it down. As someone who has read this message board for many years, it is quite obvious that these political talks will pop up in other threads again. They ALWAYS have. Do you seriously think Riffy is gonna shut up about this stuff? I understand Gazza's intent but I think it would have been better off to leave the political thread alone as it would keep all that specific content in one place where it can easily be avoided by people that have no interest in it. Just my 2 cents.

But at the end of the day, only one thing matters. The Bush Geeks got their asses handed to them in a major way. And The Rolling Stones certainly approve of that! :areyoufuckingserious

Daniels announced her political affiliation after nearly a year of speculation that she was considering a run for Vitter's seat in the Senate -- a move most analysts and many Republicans have characterized as a potshot at the incumbent more than a serious campaign.

Daniels has tweaked Vitter for his self-described "sin," which has never been fully disclosed.

On Tuesday, she took what appeared to be tongue-in-cheek shots at the entire Republican Party.

"While this decision has not been an easy one, recent events regarding Republican National Committee fundraising at Voyeur, an L.A.-based lesbian bondage themed nightclub, finally tipped the scales," she said, refering to revelations that party funds were spent at a racy California hotspot.

Though Daniels traveled the state on a listening tour last year, she has not committed to a campaign and never declared herself a member of any political party.

In a statement released to the media, however, she noted: "I am ready today to declare that should I seek the office of U.S. Senator from the great state of Louisiana, that I will do so as a Republican."

No mainstream challenger from within the GOP has announced plans to run against Vitter. The lone Democrat to enter the race -- Rep. Charlie Melancon -- trails by double-digit figures in most polls.

A year ago, some political experts identified Vitter as the most vulnerable Republican in the Senate, but the first-term incumbent has worked to shore up support from conservatives and has raised substantial funds for his re-election campaign.

Well I suppose I'm guilty of fanning the flames so I'll knock it off. Besides real life events on the ground are proving everything that I have ever said about this piece of shit president anyway. He sucks and it is more clear than ever to most rational people that he is a clueless amateur that is in way over his head. Add his love for Marxism into the mix and we get what can only be described as the most dangerous president in US history. I'll leave the political talk from this point forward to the fools that support him. It is they that will have to explain their votes to their kids, whose lives they have helped destroy with their support for this POS. Have fun explaining why the most robust economy in world history has been ground into powder by a man that thinks it is his right to redistribute wealth and to destroy the free market capitalist system that has kept America great for well over 200 years.

Lunch-only beer policy prompts Carlsberg strike

COPENHAGEN – Scores of Carlsberg workers walked off their jobs in protest Thursday after the Danish brewer tightened laid-back rules on workplace drinking and removed beer coolers from work sites, a company spokesman said.

The warehouse and production workers in Denmark are rebelling against the company's new alcohol policy, which allows them to drink beer only during lunch hours in the canteen. Previously, they could help themselves to beer throughout the day, from coolers placed around the work sites.

The only restriction was "that you could not be drunk at work. It was up to each and everyone to be responsible," company spokesman Jens Bekke said.

Carlsberg had mulled a stricter drinking policy for years and finally decided to impose the new rules on April 1, prompting protests from the staff.

Bekke said around 800 workers went on strike Wednesday and around 250 walked off their jobs Thursday, resulting in interruptions to beer transports in and around Copenhagen.

Carlsberg's truck drivers joined the strike in sympathy — even though they are exempt from the new rules, Bekke said. The truck drivers are permitted to bring three beers from the canteen because they often don't have time to have lunch there.

The trucks have alcohol ignition locks preventing the drivers from driving drunk, he added.

JC I am going to try and be very diplomatic here and explain exactly why I think you are a duplicitous jerk. (Yeah, I know that wasn't very diplomatic, but hey it ain't easy with someone like you.)

Let me start by stating right up front. I don't think that you are FPM. I know that you are FPM. I know this for an absolute fact, so your rather lame attempts at denial will always be a waste of time with me. How do I know this? Well, that shall remain my secret, but I could point out a couple of very obvious clues that may have been lost on some other posters. The way you break a post down into pieces is a style of posting a response that only one other poster on this board has ever used, and it is a very pompous method of response. You're also a Spelling Nazi. Both of these annoying traits were the stock and trade of, well, hmm..you!

Now while I find your politics insane even back in the days when you copped to your true identity, I still was always very resepctful of you as a person. Then FPM/you decided to leave the board, and in so doing you railed against everyone that you disagreed with. While it's true that I have been rather unforgiving in my own way towards people that voted for an unexperienced Maxist, I never stooped to your level in that "farewell post" that you posted. I get it. I mean I can understand getting upset when people don't see things the way that you do, but to call people that you once called friend (even if only in the cyber-friend sense of the word) Nazis, and "not even of the same species" was beyond over-the-top. It was intentionally dickish and very meanspirited. But that's the way FPM/you decided to handle things.

That would be enough for me to write you off as an obvious asshole, but you took it a few steps further. You came back to RO using an alias, which is pussified beyond measure, but you chose an alias that is intentionally insulting and disrespectful.
