Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" is devoting its entire run during the week of May 10 to special shows saluting the Rolling Stones' iconic album "Exile on Main Street." That week, a host of major acts will perform covers of songs from "Exile," and that Friday's (May 14) episode will feature the premiere of a new documentary about the album's creation, "Stones in Exile."

Participating bands have yet to be officially announced, but they are expected to include some of rock's biggest names. It is also unknown if members of the Rolling Stones will be part of the celebration.

Released in 1972, "Exile on Main Street" is infamous for its debaucherous recording sessions at Keith Richards' mansion in the south of France. The album spawned a host of instant Stones classics, including "Loving Cup," "Sweet Virginia," "Tumbling Dice," "Ventilator Blues," "Rocks Off" and "Torn and Frayed."

"Exile" will be reissued on May 18 through Universal with 10 previously unreleased tracks from the original sessions, including "Following the River," "Plundered My Soul," "Pass the Wine" and "Dancing in the Light." A super deluxe edition includes the album on vinyl, a 30-minute DVD and a 50-page book with photos from the era.

Well, like I said above, I'm fine if that's the case—but it seems Mick and Keith are going to appear on the show, along with the other bands. Seems like a bigger deal than just the reissue, even if that's the reason it's all happening.

My thoughts exactly. I really doubt the Exile reissues will bring in that much money for the band. They wouldn't show up unless they're trying to start a buzz about something else imo. I don't think any of the Stones will actually perform on the show. Although, they did do SNL...

COOL!  I was able to get tickets for the May 11th show! Thanks Luxury for the reminder to call! If anyone else wants to try for tickets the number is 212-664-3056 you gotta do it now because there arent many tickets left for that week, the 13 & 14th are already 'sold out'. I hope this is good! Oh well even if nobody special shows up it's still fun entertainment and the price is right ~ FREE!

I had a feeling Phish would be one of the bands performing. Their live Exile tribute that they streamed on their site a while back was truly excellent. I wouldn't be surprised if Jack White performed as well.

I admit, I haven't been this excited for a late night musical guest since the Stripes were a regular on Conan.  In my dreams, Mick Taylor and Carla Olson would play "Rocks Off" to kick off the festivities...

The Roots are actually a really tight band. I underestimated them for a really long time.

We all know "Happy" as, probably the 2nd most 'famous' song off Exile (after TD).  But does anyone other than Keith sing it?  I don't know if I've heard of another band covering it (save for the Crowes, with Chris, Rich, and Marc each doing a verse - very cool).

Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes did a real nice version of 'Happy'.

She takes a verse and sings along with KR.

It seems that the show that Phish played all of Exile at was filmed and will be released in theatres.

Festival 8 is the subject of "Phish 3D," a new film set to premiere April 30 for a one-week run in select U.S. theaters. Preview screenings are set for nine U.S. cities on April 20; details can be found on Phish.com.

Festival 8 was three days.
'Phish 3D' will feature music from all of them, including the Halloween 'Exile' show.

Of course the guest for 5/10 hasn't been announced, so....

If I am correct, it was on the Today show with Matt Lauer, NBC's resident Stones lackey, when ABB came out.  Someone will correct me I'm certain.....

I don't think they'll appear together. I think they'll make separate appearances—maybe in the performance slot, maybe not. My Taylor prediction is half wish-thinking.
