Almost certain i am in the minority...but i always liked this song...this mix is fine...never heard it before...
I was fortunate enough to catch a FANTASTIC version of it in Atlantic City Nov 2006...

I don't mind the song, either. The lyrics are crap—if Mick spent more than a half-hour on them, I'd be shocked—but overall it's catchy enough. He actually had something of worth to say on "Laugh, I Nearly Died"—a far better effort.

I always liked this song too. The AC version was tremendous. I never understood why people ragged on this song so much.

Yeah, this sounds like the The Bigger Bang (Early Mixes) that was unearthed by Gazza on Soulseek (with a wee bit of help from yours truly).

I think the negative reaction to SOL was that they released it as the single and some of us were looking for a rocker. For me the music is ok but the repetitive lyrics are boring and lame imho. Cookie cutter Mick falsetto balad.

Like most of the Bang record, the boys could've saved themselves the trouble. Worst album in the Stones catalogue..

Sorry LJ. If my memory serves me well, the deal wat that Max would give me firm kick in the nuts so I could do the falsetto part right...in hindsight it was not something to look forward to. But I promise I'll sing the damn song for you if I ever make it to a summit, okay. But for the love of all that is holy: don't record it..
