Hello My Stonesian Brothers and Sisters ..........................
What a Friggin Weekend !!!!! Only now my Stonescicles is your young Joey healthy enough to
write this Lil' Missive about one particular Keith ' dear boy ' Moon arriving at the Dubliner Pub Friday Evening to catch The Elders in concert [ ....whilst consuming copious amounts of Guinness , shots of GM ( Grand Marnier ) , Brandy Alexanders and even Powers Irish Whisky * Whew * ---- that Powers is friggin DANGEROUS ] .
www.EldersMusic.com Anyway , it was close to 9 O'clock when I first saw Keith standing at the Main Bar ( ..... this was VERY early for Keith as he usually arrives AFTER a band has started playing . However , tonight the establishment was jam packed [ St. Paddy's Day being just around the corner and it was an unusually warm , early March evening that most likely brought everybody out of their homes ...] ) so I asked Moonie just WHEN the Rolling Stones planned to tour ?! .. !!!!! Guess what ? .. Great News . Keith mentioned that Mick & Keef have NOT written off 2010 and this fall could very well bring a Rolling Stones stadium / arena tour ( .. sort of like what MACCA is doing this spring & summer ) . Yet , a lot depends on the economic health of both Europe AND the United States as ticket prices WILL remain high for the best seats ( close to $ 250 dollars for MF and some lower bowl sections ) . I asked Keith how Ron Wood is doing with his constant booze battles and Moonie mentioned -- between shots of Goldschlager -- that both Woody AND Keef have given up the drink before they ' popped cloggs ' [ Keith can be SO British sometimes :) ] Never in my LIFE did any of us expect keef to quit drinking but I guess the rumours are certainly true .
It was then that this tall , gorgeous , blonde [ Nordic looking ] cocktail waitress ( must be brand new as I have NEVER seen her working at ' The Dubs ' ) gave Keith " The Look " and the two of them snuck out the back entryway near the restrooms and into the alley [ some thought presumably to smoke a cigarette ( wink wink ) but neither would appear again at the bar for the rest of the evening --- guess SHE will not be working there anymore ] .
Not that it mattered much as one of my favorite Midwestern " arse kickin' " bands of all time took the stage and your young Joey began to feel ... shall we say , .... FRISKY !!!!!
And so my brothers and sisters ....... Run , do not walk , to your CD player now !
Respect the power inside as Stones' music is infectious --- under our skin it stays ..like a pleasurable
rash . Please give Steel Wheels another listen tonight before the Academy Awards --- to crank " Terrifying " on a Sunday Evening is one of life's greatest gifts .
