Title: Finally registered
Post by Tumbling Dijs on Feb 23rd, 2010 at 2:44pm
Hello everybody, I'm new here, so let me introduce myself. After visiting Rocks Off for a long long time, I thought it was time to register.
My name is Kees Dijsselbloem (Tumbling Dijs) and I live in the Netherlands. I'm 58 years old, have 2 daughters, age 31 and 29, I'm a proud granddad since six months, and have been a Stonesfan from the beginning. I'll try to upload a photo of me and my granddaughter,(yes, I'm so proud of her) so you can see who you're dealing with. Pay attention to my granddaughter's shirt!!
I remember my dad being really, really pissed and furious when the papers here reported about the famous "Kurhaus" gig in Scheveningen, where the concert hall was destroyed by fans in, if my memory serves me well, 1964. I was 13 at the time and hadn't made up my mind yet about Stones or Beatles. Because of my older brothers the Stones won. But, also still a Beatlesfan. I hope I will still be greeted! My favorites Stones are (of course) the early years, Beggar's Banquet, Sticky Fingers and from the last 25 years Voodoo Lounge and A Bigger Bang. (tough choice)
To some of you my name may sound familiar, because I have the privilege having a link to my webite on Rocks Off, which I can say, generated alot of viewers.
Because I've moved to another city last year, with all the trouble of buying a new house and selling the old one in this economic crisis, I haven't been able to work on my website for a long time. However I do have the time to visit this messageboard, late in the evening, enjoying a glass of beer.
I'm sorry to say that for the time being I will not have the time to start again with my site at a new provider. Maybe in the future.
Anyway, I've always enjoyed visiting this great messageboard, there's alot of humor here, but because I'm Dutch and my English is not THAT good, not every topic make sense to me. Besides that, I'm more of a reader, and not so much of a writer, but there are times I feel the need to react on a topic, so that's why I decided to register.
Well, pleased to meet you all.

Another crazy Fin!

Welcome to the asylum. Or as my good friend Egon always says, "Er is geen reden voor u om de juiste voet van de olifant te eten."

When you pee, make sure to leave the toilet seat up. The ROCC prefers it that way.

Welcome, Kees!

Your granddaughter is beautiful, and your English is fantastic.

If you have been lurking for a while, I hope you know we are a lot more fun when the Stones are on tour. Without a tour, we do not have much to talk about.

This is an asylum and we are so happy that you have joined us!

Welcome to the Party, although as my friend Sweet Virginia says
when the Stones are not touring, things can get a little tense in here.

Here's your straight jacket and bullet proof vest.
Jump right in and have fun.

Well, that's what I mean. I absolutely don't know what you're talking about, but it makes me smile and grab another beer. (your dutch is correct however)

Welcome Kees, and how very nice of you to introduce yourself with a few personal details ! Your granddaughter is absolutely gorgeous, what a little doll, you have every reason to be proud! Have fun at this lunatic asylum and don't worry too much about not understanding some things, my English is pretty good and I don't understand half of what goes on. Whatever you do, avoid any political threads unless you are wearing a bullet-proof vest and pink frilly thongs!

WELCOME!

Is George playing a real chord?

Hello and greetings from New Jersey! I enjoy reading posts from Europe, with a slightly different persepctive! Always nice to have friends from around the world just in case I get rich and follow the Stones next tour. I play the lottery every week, $1.00 powerball, a winning ticket can be worth millions of dollars. Yeah, I know the odds are against me, but I'm lucky!

Cute kid in the RS shirt!

What a great welcome everybody, I'm in total shock, I've never made the frontpage anywhere, but hey, it feels good to be anywhere. I think I can say I'm so exited that I'm typing this with my... (can't use that language anymore since I'm a rollmodel for my granddaughter) Didn't expect this of course, I feel already getting a bit arrogant. I'm gonna celebrate this with a beer of course and make me a screendump for my photoalbum.
