I'd have to say "Gimme Shelter" when he played himself, "Performance" wasn't to bad, but "Ned Kelly" looking at it now is pretty bad, when it came out, I liked it because any movie with Mick Jagger in it was alright because there wasn't anything around like today to choose from.

yes, agree HOS, about Ned Kelly. When happened me to see pics from the movie, I simply could not see Mick as an Austrialian Cowboy, with that weird beard. The critics was said it wasnt good at all.
But about performance.. it was became a cult movie. I have to see it and look for. What about Freejack and the Elysian Field? are they worthy? |

I thought Mick's performance in The Man From Elysian Fields was great. I enjoyed him and the movie very much. Freejack is not good, but there is some entertainment value there. |

My favorite is ROCK & ROLL CIRCUS. MICK's performance of Sympathy For the Devil is unbelievably hot! MICK rips his shirt off and slithers down the aisle looking intensely into the camera ~ long dark hair flowing, pouty lips, it's truly mesmerizing! MICK is best when acting as a musician, IMO.

...which is, I think, why he does well in 'Performance'

Not much love for "Bent" here, I see. :blankfriggingstare1. Or even 'The Nightingale'. Christ, that was an hour of my life I'll never get back. What WAS he thinking?
Agree with Jizzy - he's fine in 'Performance', and its an excellent film as well. The less said about 'Ned Kelly' (and especially that daft Oirish accent) the better. No wonder the Aussies protested that they were hiring him at the time. Not sure what attracted him to 'Freejack' either, although I dont think its quite as bad as some make it out to be. I've never seen 'Elysian Fields'. Not sure if it got a cinematic release in the UK and I don't recall it ever been shown on TV. Yet, every review I've read of it suggests he was pretty good in it. |

The Man from Elysian Fields - with MJ typecast as a rarefied pimp. Hilariously, Michael Des Barres gives a Terence Stamp-like performance as Jagger's chief 'ho. Not to be missed by fans.
