keanu reeves is the worst actor on the planet. besides bill and ted, and the matrix where he left the acting to lawrence fishburne, he is attrocious to watch.

Actors are also women too.
1-Paris Hilton.
2-David Caruso (except for Miami CSI)
3-Madonna.
4-Sylvester Stallone (he never changes characters, he's always playing the same role in whatever movie he's in)

Not that i agree or disagree...but Charlie Sheen is currently the highest paid TV actor in America...so that pretty much makes him A-List in his own right...

Sandra Bullock... couldn't  even act her way out of a paper bag...Can't stand Tom hanks, Robin williams...and Scott Bacula...oh, wait...you did say A list...scratch that last one

The dude that played Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels :forfucksake

Then there's a bunch of shitty action heroes: Seagal was already mentioned, but Jean Claude van Damme, Vin Diesel and Chuck Norris are worth mentioning as well. Ben Affleck is a lousy actor, and I can't stand Tom Hanks.

For his work outside of Cheers and Frasier? I say that because both shows - though I prefer the latter - show him to be one of America's very finest. How on earth can one enjoy the wit and wisdom that is Dr. Frasier Crane????

Well at least it can be said that he's still a better actor than he is a songwriter.  Compared to his lyrical abilities, his acting is Olivier or Welles-like.

You stealing MY expressions now???

Dick Van Dyke - Christ, he should have been shot like a dog for that awful Cockney accent in 'Mary Poppins'.

Its up there in the top 10 'worst ever attempts at an accent' list along with the likes of Tom Cruise ('Far & Away'), Brad Pitt ('The Devils Own'), Mickey Rourke ('Prayer for the Dying') and er.. Mick Jagger ('Ned Kelly')

Ron's a legend. There was a documentary film made about him a couple of years ago and one director reckoned that the reason Ron has such a great reputation for performing cunnilingus is that when he sees a pussy he basically regards it as another meal.....

Ben Asscrack is horrible in everything I have seen him in.

Van Damme has Segal beat in the bad acting department, but all of those action guys are pretty lame - almost can't even count them as actors and feel good about it.

Never really been a fan of Tom Cruise either.
Always seems to overact everything he is in, except when he was in Risky Business, but he was still in the larval stage then.

At least Van Damme has an excuse in that English isnt his first language!

True, but even if English were his first language, his acting is still pretty bad - he only knows two faces - pissed and frustrated.  Granted, in a few scenes in Bloodsport, he managed to combine them into a frustrated pissed off guy!

I guess that counts for something...

I actually prefer Cruise to Brad Pitt....
Cruise was great in Minority Report, Rain Man and made me cry in Born on the Fourth of July..brilliant in Collateral.....its all subjective of course, but there are many actors who i find overrated....Cruise tends to be underrated.
Can't argue with Reeves - painful to watch, simple as that and i cannot for the life of me will never understand how he keeps getting work...

Didn't see the movie but Brad Pitt's accent in Snatch is beyond shocking.

Winona Ryder just terrible.

Mick. Freejack and Ned Kelly are up there although in comparison to those (only in comparison to those) the Man from Elysian Fields was much better.

Sharon Stone- the media just hypes her up. She is the epitome of overacting.

The entire Bend it Like Beckham cast and their terrible attempt at pretending to be football lovers.

Sting in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Piles of Shite. His mockney and attempt to act hard is utterly useless.

Maybe I would have a different opinion if they all dropped dead sometime in the 1980's but I have had a hard time sitting thru just about anything I have seen with them since.

That said, I am not a big movie watcher. The Golden Age of Hollywood ended sometime around 1986 and I have hardly bothered since.

I hope that was meant to read "how on earth can one NOT enjoy the wit and wisdom....?"
I absolutely loOOOOOOve Frasier and tend to watch one episode every morning while eating breakfast and before I start consulting and it always puts a long-lasting smile on my face. No idea how big the team of script-writers is, but to me it is an absolutely brilliant sitcom, and the best humour American TV has ever produced.

I HATE TOM CRUISE!!!!!!!(with a passion! does he actually have more than two facial expressions?

I know how you feel. I've been to the cinema exactly four times in the last 8-9 years or so...

Kill Bill Vol 1, Kill Bill Vol 2, Gangs of New York, Shine A Light - two Tarantino, two Scorsese.

Rarely even bother watching movies on TV anymore. Newer ones anyway.

Mel Gibson - like Cruise I find his over acting/emoting cringe inducing

he has made an entire career out of pulling that stupid Mad Max "crazy eyes" look

ijwthstd mentioned de Niro - while i think he is still a fine actor (see e.g. Jacky Brown and I thought his comedy turn In Meet the Fockers was well done) he has really trashed his reputation with B-grade crap like The Fan. Still I understand he was happy to do any old stuff as long as he got a good pay cheque as he used his $$ to fund his ABC production company.

Same here! Seen a few revivals (Town That Dreaded Sundown, Rolling Thunder, Gimme Shelter, Shine A Light) and new releases, South Park (over 10 years ago), Shine A Light first run, Team America, Breach and Friday The 13th remake - an insignificant yet fun film that harkens back to a much simpler time.

Often indie films always that look interesting but would take a bit of effort to get to where they are playing so I don't bother.

I don't care for Jack Nicholson.  99% of the time he's playing himself, so he isn't acting he's delivering lines.

Same with Dustin Hoffman.  Just blah.  Or as Olivier told him - "Why not try acting?"
