I'm sorry to give you the sad news that Waterdragon (Mary Selby) died of cancer recently. She used to post on the Brian thread in the early days often with beautiful poems. She was a very kind and sweet person and will be missed very much.
My thoughts go out to her friends and family.

This is very sad for me too, we were friends, I thought she was a he as her e-mails had "Sam Hung" as the name.

She sent great headers of the Brian Jones grave since 2004, even the last one in 2009 was provided by her. She also posted some great and rare pictures of Brian and of course comments on the Brian threads.

She told me those stories about Steve Marriott and Brian Jones in the embryonic Humble Pie, she met Steve and she was really informed on him.

We also had some cool conversations about Zappa, using Zappa quotes in our e-mails

Of course we talk also about Donovan, Linda and Julian frequently

We need to send some flowers to Brian's grave this year in her honor, if someone can help let me know about how to send, some years ago we sent some via a local supplier and they sent us the picture

I love that picture....the card behind the red flowers with the Brian picture on the front, up against the gravestore, is the one I sent last year....I, too, thought she was a guy for a long time. When I first read  her "name", Waterdragon, I misread it as "Walterdragon", so I thought her first name might be Walter. But....I think on that name with affection. This is just so sad. :( I can't stop thinking about it...:(:(

This is indeed a touching header; very nice of her sister (Jeanet) to bring her sister in such a close memory with Brian of whom Waterdragon (Mary) was such a big fan (and to share this with us on this board!)

This is so sad. My mom passed through bad years during her convalescence. Cancer is such a terrible and debilitating illness, I had not the pleasure of dealing with Mary but I'm sure she fought until the end.

Sad to hear about this although I didnt know her. And she looks young in the pic which makes it even sadder. Death always makes us look at our own mortality. We only go around once so make it a good one and dont worry about the small stuff, right? At least I feel I know she enjoyed her life as a Stone fan, the Stones give us so much to be happy about, inspires us to keep on going and never stop, never stop, never never never stop while we are still alive! RIP Waterdragon!
