Title: Ronnie, Tony Curtis, Marilyn & wine memories
Post by RubyLyn on Feb 3rd, 2010 at 11:41am
Ron and Jo was went to live in LA. And there..

'At the time Tony Cutis met Gary Grant he was so popular, groupies used to yell, "Gary Grant, its Jesus Christ". He, Tony Curtis and I would spend deliciously  succulent evenings together.

because he paints, Tony and I would spend a lot of time discussing drawing and paintings. We'd sit and sketch each other while sipping precious vintages. He'd scribble away in his minimalist Matisse-like way.
He also loved to reminisce about the old days of Hollywood, but I always liked it best when he talked about Some Like It Hot, and especially when he spoke about Marilyn.
I'd chop up coke for myself on top of her photographs and he'd mumble, "You bitch, you bitch".
he told me that when they were making that movie together, Marilyn was the first one in the studio parking lot and the last one out, "Because she was fucking everybody". He shattered my image of her, saying in the early days she'd sleep with anyone to get a part in a movie.
And he once gave me a pair of cowboy boots that he wore when he was having sex with her.
keith christened them, "Boots far too big". :interestingstuffronnie
Tony loved talking about England and knew it well. he had a house in London, in Chester Square, and once when we were going back to the UK and he was in London but had to go on some sort of trip, he asked us (Him and Jo) to house-sit for him. Jo and I said sure, we'd very happy to. We moved in and he showed us around the house and the tour included the trap door in the floor that led to his wine cellar.
he very graciously said, "You have the freedom of my wine cellar", which was his first mistake. His second mistake was leaving me there with forty or fifty cases of the finest vintage wines.
We had parties at his house every night   ... and why not, the wine was excellent..  and we drank all of his bottles except for one bottle of Chateux Petrus. When Tony came back a couple of weeks later, he was so angry at me because he'd been collecting that wine for years.
I promised to make it up to him, to replace the entire cellar, but he said that would be impossible because some of those bottles were irreplaceable. I said, "Tony, does mean we're not friends any more?"
He said "Ron, I love your company but I cant stand your hours"' :forfucksake

Ronnie.. what had do you done to Curtis's wine? All drunken? bad boy Ron! :aimama

Most people would have the self control to a) not cut lines on top of his personal Marilyn photos b) not drink the man's entire wine collection after graciously offering his house for Ronnie to stay

Too Rude!!

putting the fox in charge of the henhouse.

I like that name:  "boots too big"

They must have been hanging out during the freebasing era.

I've saw Some Like It Hot, few weeks ago, in original version; I was curious to hear the real voices of Marilyn, Tony and Jack Lemmon.
If I'm not wrong, Tony had always said that while he should kiss Marilyn was like kisses a piece of ice.

HFS, I think yes, he was in paradise with all that wine. I think he, couldnt never come through from where he's in since many, too much years.

and Tumble, yes, TOO rude he was been..
