For a lark I logged into RS.COM and my account is active. However are they billing for annual memberships? Guess I should know but don't and look at what appears right under my credit card on file info:

* Primary Card.
This is the card that will be used to continue you membership in the event your account automatically renews.

'In the "event" that it automatically renews????????? WTF???????????? plus they misspell your..lmaooo or did I just misspell mispell???

I'm no longer a member, but I believe they extended the period of the annual membership. Even rs.com realises that charging people $100 for membership of a fan club of a band that has effectively ceased to exist for the last two and a half years is an offer which is only going to appeal to a  relatively small number of utter lemmings.

They changed the default option of your membership to 'auto renew' in mid 2006. Of course, whilst they were too busy bombarding us at the time with stuff we needed to know such as offers on old calendars and bobble head dolls, the trivial stuff like updates on Keith's medical condition, info on whether European tour dates were at risk of being cancelled and their decision to automatically bill you $100 without offering you the option of renewing were considered matters of minor importance, so they decided not to tell you.
