AUSTRIA: Why do you so rarely give interviews?

Charlie Watts: I have for years been no, I do not like that. I always let them talk to Mick and Keith, for those who believe that they still have something to say. But I'm generally not very sociable, I would rather sit at home.

AUSTRIA: What do you think of your status as a legend?

Watts: So that I do not feel very well. Although I collect many things - from cars to secure autographs - but quite nothing about me.

AUSTRIA: Are the Stones really the "greatest rock band in the world"?

Watts: I do not know. The critics have invented - but there really are worse! "Worst band in the world", that would be terrible.

AUSTRIA: Formerly it was called "Stones or Beatles"?

Watts: I was never a big Beatles fan. Ringo, yes! But not from the music. I've also always hated Elvis. He was the last in which I wanted to get my bearings. Miles Davis and Fats Domino, yes, but Elvis - no!

AUSTRIA: You are 47 years with the Stones - a long time ...

Watts: Yes, but it is gone in a flash. At first I thought that we would be together for a week. Then it was one year, and suddenly it's 47 years! Honestly, it was a bit of work and a lot of "hanging out".

AUSTRIA: Jagger and Richard always say: Without Charlie no Stones…

Watts: Today it's not easy to replace when the Stones. If one goes, then it's over.

AUSTRIA: Does one have to worry oneself around Ron Wood?

Watts: He is fine ... He has problems, but I'm not worried.

AUSTRIA: What are your plans?

Watts: I myself am going to come to Vienna on March 18 und 19... And the Stones are planning for 2010/11 still a tour. But honestly: I would not care if it with the Stones tomorrow and be over. Only the music can not take away from me. Otherwise I would be so plain crazy!

Maybe he was misquoted. I read elsewhere from Austrian fans who heard the interview that he said 2011/2012.
