Forty Licks was better than Wingspan.Which videos did you prefer 25X5 or The Beatles Anthology?
Check this out: http://www.amazon.com/25-Mozart-Favorites-John-SantAmbrogio/dp/B0000058HV/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1262143005&sr=1-3 Click listen to all to preview. It's part of a series.Choose a composer.Do you know how expensive an orchestra is?At $5 a disc they're giving it away. Stripped was about as modern sounding the Stones should of gotten during the era.Perfect length. They dropped both Sympathy and Satisfaction was a great time still had by all?Seriously they should recruit Bill again and keep Daryl and go for a double bass sound and just tour England. It'd be a fond farewell. Had a great time hanging with the boys, happy new year to yous all. |

Beatles Anthology was way too long and commercial. 25 x 5 rocked and I'm still looking for it on DVD (wore out the VHS tape).
Keith's interviews ruled: "You fuck, you're fired." Only problem is that the performances were unforgivably edited. P.S. Hi Bitch! :areyoufuckingserious |

I agree Zack. Too much editing. Maybe they will re-release 25X5 with the performances in full on DVD. At the time it made sense so they could keep it down to one video tape.

I haven't seen 25X5 in years though I remember loving it.Just like the complete beatles which I thought was better.I've seen the Beatles scores of times on tv,video, and the internet and I enjoyed the performances.Don't have a favourite one,and I heard the band just fine. Now if Keith could learn to play in the key of A maybe he'd stop being an asshole.Or at least he can stop telling people to do likewise.
Now and interesting rivalry in the studio and on the road would be U2 v.s Led Zeppelin. They keep saying they want to be the worlds greatest rock and roll band and the Stones seem willing to give up that crown, how do you think they stack up against the mighty Zep? |

No sense in releasing a career retrospective thats already 20 years out of date. (The notion from the title that the Stones started in '64 was a bit nonsensical as well). Would have made sense to have officially released 'Let It Bleed', the updated version done by Rossacher and Dolezal in 2002 and shown only in France and Germany - unquestionably the BEST visual documentary ever on the Stones - but no doubt something else will be pencilled in for 2012 for the 50th anniversary (or 2014, if Lorne Michaels still believes thats the date of the Golden Jubilee) |

[/quote] Hey I love both the Stones and Rocks Off.Followed both for years.Unlike the official fanclub I imagine, you guys can openly discuss and share bootlegs.I've got the $100.I could better use it more wisely.Just the setlists would be fine for me,I loved reading those over the years. |

I didn't know about Let It Bleed. I'd be interested in seeing that. Thank you for the tip. Granted, 25X5 is 20 years out of date however it still serves a purpose. It's as much of a snapshot of it's time as it is a retrospective because of the interviews. And Gazza I'm sure you are right about 2012. The Golden Anniversary won't be ignored. |

I'm sure it won't be. When the Stones' publicist was denying the recent story that Charlie was quitting, she specifically mentioned that the band were making plans to commemorate their 50th anniversary as a band in 2012.

I loved 25x5 & wished it was released on DVD with extra footage, but as Gazza mentioned it is a dated collection, for their 50th, it could be called 50x4 if Ronnie is still in the band.

You can get 25X5 on DVD if you want it.Just bring in your VHS to any Photo Shop that does tape to DVD transfers.Save the band the money on a re-release. |

Oh, I can easily convert it to DVD, I already have, I have a machine that converts VHS to DVD, but I mean a official release, with added footage that was left out & all those great extras that goes with a DVD official release. |

And I heard Stones-chatter that the Stones will either open or close the 2012 Olympics in London. So it ties in. |

The Olmpics gig should be enough.Charlie would no doubt agree to that.More priveleges.

Wishful thinking (IMHO) on the part of over optimistic Stones fans who think any event in London has to involve the Rolling Stones. There's nothing really to substantiate that at the minute. Hopefully it's utter bullshit. |
