awesome movie...a masterpiece, saw it five times in the theater and on DVD last night, Tarantino's best!  Christoph Walz for the Oscar!!

That's a bold statement. Remember, I just got back from Amsterdam.

I look forward to seeing it!  I remember seeing Jackie Brown for the first time and being a little disapointed.  A half dozen viewings later, It's become my favorite.

Is Brad Pitt the problem?  I don't care for him.

Title: Re: Inglorious Basterds
Post by lotsajizz on Dec 16th, 2009 at 4:57pm
Pitt is superb.  But he can't be the problem as he's not the star--despite the billing.  Christoph Waltz is THE star...and THAT's a bingo!!

I need to see a C. Waltz pic.   I am a big Tarantino fan, but am too wimpy to sit through some of the torture scenes.

Know what you mean....
He makes good choices in roles and he's decent, but i think overrated.....

It breaks down like this: it's legal to buy it, it's legal to own it, and, if you're the proprietor of a hash bar, it's legal to sell it. It's legal to carry it, but that doesn't really matter 'cause -- get a load of this -- if you get stopped by the cops in Amsterdam, it's illegal for them to search you. I mean, that's a right… the cops in Amsterdam don't have.

sean, don't you have anything better to do than watch that movie six times?

walz was amazing.

It's going to take alot to overshadow "Kill Bill, Parts 1 & 2"

One of the things i love about Tarantino is his casting - original and daring, except for Pitt....
I like the actors he raises from the dead (pam grier, robert forrester, Carradine etc) and that's one of the things that makes his movies impossible not to love and root for.
Pitt is too mainstream and yeah, I'm biased.

Hated it. We left the theater like 1.5 hours into it. Sucked as much as the second half of Grindhouse.

i have not seen this movie and i am not sure when i will, but one scene that cracks me up in the trailer is when hitler bangs his fist on the table saying mime mine mine and then brad pitt saying oh yes yes yes.  this made me laugh.  if someone cares to explain what this is about, i am all ears.

Great movie, imo.
The opening scene is a classic.

I have to admit I've warmed to IB after watching it a few more times, the first time I saw it I was expecting more of an action film, which it's not. Id agree it's one of Tarantino's best films, and gets my vote for best use of a Bowie song in a WWII movie
