Title: Macca rocks Paris (Bercy Dec 10th show  - NSC
Post by gotdablouse on Dec 10th, 2009 at 7:15pm
Just got back from Bercy, fabulous show, just as good as when he played there in 1989 really, maybe better actually, he was more at ease, lots of talking and crowd play.

It doesn't hurt either that he's got ace musicians on stage with him and only 4 of them.

I posted these on YouTube during the show with my iPhone if anyone is interested :

It looked and sounded like an exciting show.  Thanks for sharing.  The last time I saw Paul live he was playing with John, George and Ringo.

" Related to the above, here is the "last known" photograph of John Lennon and Paul McCartney together. The photo was part of the late Who drummer Keith Moon's collection. It was taken in 1974, four years after the Beatles split up, at the recording of US singer Harry Nilsson's album Pussycats. "

Credit for the photos goes to Joey, Lantern High.  I saw the Beatles in concert 3 times.  Unfortunately I was one of the screamers who probably convinced them to quit touring.  I bought an "I Love John" button at one of the shows which I still have along with my John Lennon doll and Beatle bubblegum cards.  I was able to take some black and white pictures of Ringo's drum kit on stage before the show and before I was directed to my usual seat in the nosebleed section.

Lucky lady! Thanks to Joey for the pix. They are awesome. I couldnt never find a doll or a bubblegum of them. I just got something that Keith had given me (throwed) in a gig.  Take care of them Ginda, and thank you for your nice memories. You're very kindly. ;)

Yes, excellent stuff, isn't that a former guy from CNN doing the interview?

Best part is at the end of course, "Why would I retire?" !

Indeed after seeing him on Thursday I can't think of any good reason for him to do that, great shape, great voice, fans who can't get enough, many great songs he hasn't played yet, etc...

Looks like Macca is eyeing more shows...

Paul McCartney 'fancies' O2 concert residency

McCartney is at the end of his short European tour

Sir Paul McCartney has hinted that he would like to play a residency the O2 Arena, in London.

The former Beatle, who is due to perform at the venue on Tuesday, told Absolute Radio that he "quite fancied the idea" of an extended run of shows.

He said: "Last time I ever did that was when The Beatles used to do Christmas shows, and it was brilliant because... you would be there for a week or two.

"It was fantastic, just dossing in your overcoat and everything."

Prince and Britney Spears have previously played residencies at the O2 Arena, while Bon Jovi will start their residency in June next year.

Michael Jackson was just days from the start of his planned 50-date run when he died in June.

UK plans

Sir Paul kicked off his European tour earlier this month in Hamburg, followed by dates in Berlin, Arnhem, Paris, Cologne and Dublin, with the tour ending in London on Tuesday.

It is the singer's only UK date this year, but he said he had originally hoped to play more venues.

"I came back from America and a lot of people said, 'Oh, I hear you've been to America, are you doing any British dates?' I said, 'No', and they said, 'Oh, why not?'," he told drivetime DJ Geoff Lloyd.

"So I rung my promoter and said, 'Hey, can we do some English dates and can we play maybe Scotland?'

"He had a brilliant idea of the Union Jack Tour, it was going to be Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, but he couldn't get the availability at such short notice."

Sir Paul's tour started three weeks after the release of his Good Evening New York City album, which features music from McCartney's three concerts at New York's Citi Field, in July.

He also appeared on ITV1's X Factor final performing hits 'Drive My Car' and 'Live And Let Die', earlier this month, and at a charity concert for Children in Need at London's Royal Albert Hall, in November.

The moon is right
The spirits up
Were here tonight
And thats enough
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The partys on
The feelins here
That only comes
This time of year

Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The choir of children sing their song
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding ohhhh
Ohhhhhhh

Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The word is out
About the town
To lift a glass
Ahhh dont look down

Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

The choir of children sing their song
They practiced all year long
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
