It has always been a favorite of mine...i always thought they would have pulled it out sometime especially in DC...as their local tribute...

I love that one because its so early 70s..
Jagger supposedly wrote this in light of all the trouble Lennon was having with the Nixon administration.... |

Great song. Funky groove that is still cool today. Great vocal from mick too. Very emotive.

Listened to IORR the other day. Weird how they sped it up, but I dig it that way. The slower mix just doesn't groove right. Even more impressive is how they pulled it off live - it didn't lose any luster on Love You Live. I could see them playing it on the (next) tour, but I don't know if Darryl plays synth... :boring

this is one of my faves off of IORR ... always has been. Along with the title track, If u can't rock me, dance little sister, & ain't too proud to beg.
Someone above (I forget who) mentioned they thought that Mick had wrote this cuz of all the troubles Lennon was going thru. I heard the same thing too, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least... :smilebrian ---------------------------------- |

Hoover HATED the Stones. And many in the Nixon regime despised them too. But as the Stones were not really political, i dont the FBI were too interested in them. It's amazing what they got away with in those days. Tony Sanchez said in his book that some one was arranging the drugs for the band andi cant recall if he said it was the Feds or the mafia.
Probably not much difference really. a-hahahahahaha-er-haha. |
