It's the third round before the final and I witnessed some strange things since 3 days on this poll:
http://www.msg.com/photos/100-best-madison-square-garden-shows-top-20/slide/4/ For example, votes that are taken from the 10 first competitors and given to the 10 last ones. "You may vote once per day. The poll closes Wednesday, January 7 at noon. The top 10 concerts will face off in the final poll, which opens Thursday, January 8 at noon." So then I'd say to all of you keep voting every day, once per day as it is asked by the msg poll staff, it only needs 2 minutes of your time. Let the cheaters eat each others, you know who you are and... I wish a quiet and Merry Christmas to all! ;) |

Dont know how anyone can say that the '75 Stones shows can be included (good though they were) and the '72 shows not.
Some ridiculous inclusions there. Village People '79, Celine Dion and Duran Duran but no Springsteen, Dylan, etc? Ludicrous. |

Ludicrous? Yes, and probably a shame for msg, because of all the cheating that was on for the previous polls.
For example, I saw Celine Dion percentage growing up for each vote for the Stones, on the '90 poll, when we were allowed to vote as much as we want to. I tried it quickly, then slowly, her percentage was growing at the same rate for each vote after the first one. So if you ever see a "vote again" button, do not click on it. I suppose that's one of the numerous reasons why msg staff changed the rules and ask to vote only once per day. As I suppose it's also because of all the cheating that is still happening now that they're giving some handicap to the 10 first competitors decreasing them and giving points to the 10 last ones. Even if this poll doesn't look serious and only a kind of "publicity" for msg during the renovation, perhaps people will have some big surprises by the end, so then please, don't worry about the percentages and the others, just keep voting every day once per day, that's all. Thanks! |

Title: Re: MSG Poll, round 2 and final Post by left shoe shuffle on Dec 23rd, 2009 at 10:56am With all of the historic concerts that have happened at MSG - The Concert For Bangladesh, John Lennon's final live appearance with Elton John, No Nukes, Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary, Dylan's 30th Anniversary, The Concert For New York City and the RRHOF Concerts to name but a few - MSG should be embarrassed that some apocryphal poll will determine their "best show ever". |

I totally agree with you. As a former firefighter (had to stop because of a stupid accident with one of my shoulders) I also voted for The Concert For New York City and I warned my firefighter friends to vote too as much as they wanted and they all did it, of course. But they couldn't help to go to the 3rd round, just because of all that cheating. I'm sorry, I know I can be stubborn sometimes :-[ ... Oh well... Tomorrow is another day and I have to prepare the Christmas' Eve, so... See you later on some other threads and until then, have a Happy Holiday Season! |
