WOOD ARRESTED FOR 'ATTACK' ON GIRLFRIEND

ROLLING STONES rocker RONNIE WOOD has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend EKATERINA IVANOVA.
The 62 year old guitarist was held by police in Surrey, south east England, on Wednesday evening (02Dec09) for the alleged attack and reportedly held overnight before being released on bail.
It followed an alleged incident in a street close to the couple's home in Claygate, Surrey.
A Rolling Stones spokesman has confirmed the arrest but added that the band will not be issuing a statement, according to Sky News.
Wood split from longterm wife Jo in July last year (08) after his fling with Russian waitress Ivanova, 20, was exposed.

Ronnie Wood arrested and bailed for 'assault' on 21-year-old girlfriend
By Sara Nathan

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1232954/Ronnie-Wood-arrested-bailed-assault-21-year-old-girlfriend.html

Ronnie Wood has been arrested after an alleged assault on his 21-year-old girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova.

The Rolling Stones guitarist, 62, who has only just divorced his wife Jo, was released on bail following the incident.

The couple, who are renting a £4,000-a-week lavish ‘castle’ called Ruxley Towers, in Claygate in Esher, Surrey, are believed to have had an altercation near their new home on Wednesday night.

Ronnie Wood, pictured with his Russian girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova, was arrested and bailed on suspicion of assaulting her

They moved into the property in September and Wood – known for his past drink battles – rented the four-bedroom white folly from a member of the Lacoste family, who own the French sportswear label.

Wood was questioned by police over claims he had assaulted his young Russian lover after being arrested in the high street of Claygate by officers called to reports of an assault.

It is understood that his on-off girlfriend Ekaterina claimed he attacked her during a row.
A Surrey Police spokesman said Wood was released on bail until a date next month pending further inquiries.

A spokesman said: 'We can confirm that a 62-year-old man from Esher was arrested last night on suspicion of assault in connection with a domestic incident in Claygate High Street.

'He has this afternoon been released on bail until a date in January pending further inquiries.'
Ruxley Towers in Claygate, Surrey, where Ronnie Wood has set up home with Russian girlfriend

Wood has taken a year-long lease on the quirky Surrey home, which features an octagonal tower complete with a turret and gargoyles.

It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a library.

The arrest is the latest chapter in a tumultuous relationship between the ageing rocker and the former cocktail waitress.
Police were called to the couple's £5 million home in September after one row in which it was claimed she threatened to kill herself.

Wood left his wife, Jo, for Miss Ivanova in 2008. The couple had been married for 23 years and their divorce will be finalised within weeks.

Mrs Wood, 54, who took part in Strictly Come Dancing this year, was married to the musician for 24 years.

Last week the lapdancing bar where Wood met Miss Ivanova was closed after a raid by vice squad officers.

Detectives said The Capricorn Club in Goodge Street, Soho, was a £1 million-a-year sex and drugs den.

One officer said the bar was an underground brothel where clients had sex in cubicles and drugs including cocaine were easily available.

How pathetic. Having a mid life crisis at such a late stage in life is so unbecoming, and beating on a woman is unforgivable. The irony of all this is that Ronnie has always shown real pride in the fact that he helped heel the rift between Keith and Mick back in 1988, and hence "saved the Stones." This is the kind of action that could completely destroy the band. Or at least, it could destroy the current line up of the band. I think Ronnie may have just sealed his own fate within the group. Dumb drunken behavior can be overcome. Beating on a woman goes well beyond the typical drunken idiocy that Ronnie has exhibited to date. This might be a "bridge too far" for the drunken fool.

True.  I'm guilty of jumping the gun.

After thinking about this for a bit, simple assault in America can be a slap.  Not sure about the UK.  Not that it is ever ok for a man to hit a woman; far from it.  None of us know the circumstances yet.  Take back earlier post until further information.

Yeah, it 'must' be her fault that he assaulted her and got arrested  ::) >:( - but hey, as long as his hands are OK!

Only a matter of time before the first idiotic 'Good old Ronnie - the only band member still acting like a Stone should' post, I would imagine.

Ginda, no one is condoning domestic violence; but little Miss Ekat, the ENABLER, is no Pollyanna either.
Didn't they have a big fight a few months ago because he wanted to see his Grandchildren? That was splashed all over the tabloids. She is a child.

This pair is a fucking train wreck.

Bottom line. I wish Ronnie would get his act together because I really do care about him.
Then he can carry on with whomever he pleases.

Rehab for Ronnie is a waste of a bed. How many times has he been through it? Six? Seven? He never seems to be able or willing to straighten himself out for very long - even when he's given a death sentence by his doctors.

We see the same "blind idolatry" with regards to Brian. His hard core fans always attempt to absolve him of his very abusive tendencies towards women. I personally have zero respect for any man that hits a woman. Period. There is no grey area for me. If you hit a woman for any reason other than self defense you are a little more than a shit stain. Brian Jones was a great musician. He was a horrible person. Never thought that Ronnie would be the type to hit a woman, but alcoholism is a bitch, and it makes you do stupid, and abusive things. However, if this story turns out to be as bad as it sounds then Ronnie had better wake the fuck up and put down the bottle once and for all. At this point Ronnie "keeping the gig" should be the last thing on his priority list. The old adage is true-if you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you should do is stop digging. Ol' Ronnie needs to put the shovel down.

Yeah Holden I agree, he even looks like Ronnie, he really don't know what happened, no details yet, it could be that she's a kind of Woman that would make a preacher swear, but that's no excuse to hit a woman, never mind that she's young enough to be his daughter, & nothing good becomes of an alcoholic who keeps drinking, it's only until he wants to quit that something will become of it, he can go in all the rehabs (like Gazza earlier mentioned) in the world, but it's only until he wants to stop.
That term, Hit Me Ronnie! has a new meaning now.

I honestly find it amazing that people are giving Ronnie Wood the benefit of the doubt. I suppose it's because he is such an upstanding character who treats his family with respect and kindness. Or maybe because he is someone who, when given fifty chances to put things right, always does the right thing. Some 60 plus year old starts dating a young girl and then is arrested under suspicion of assault and it MUST be her. I suppose the police were just clueless, didn't ask both sides, and arrested the male as a trigger reaction? That's possible and has happened before, but why on earth would I believe that over him probably being high and hammered and hitting her a few times? Honestly people put your Stones love aside for a second. She's obviously no angel but if there is any one I feel sorry for it's some super confused, probably insecure, ok gold digging, but nonetheless young girl. More than that I feel sorry for the wife of 30+ years who devoted her life to him and his children. I couldn't give a toss about Ronnie Wood and he deserves all of this for what he did to his family.

Speaking only for myself, I am not giving Ronnie the benefit of the doubt.
What I am giving him is the benefit of due process.

Until all the facts are disclosed, I'm reserving judgement.

Right now the only thing he's guilty of is being in an unhealthy and co-dependent relationship.
One that both must realize has to end...

Fair enough and people have been arrested before for things they didn't do but I just find it amazing that some people assume that she is somehow to blame. Maybe she is and maybe she isn't but it's not exactly like Ronnie Wood deserves the benefit of the doubt in this situation, even though as said that he doesn't seem to have a history of this type of thing.

Interesting that the 'innocent until proven guilty' maxim only applies to some if it's a celebrity they happen to be fixated on.  There's two people involved here worthy of equal non-judgemental treatment,  but as it stands, only one of them was arrested.

I'm guessing it would be when Ronnie & Jo got busted in the Caribbean around January 1980 (I think it was Martinique) for drug possession and both spent a few days in jail before being released without charge.

Charlie got fined around 1988-89 or so for being one of tens of thousands of UK citizens who refused to pay his poll tax, but he wouldnt have been arrested for it.

Jerry Hall got busted in Barbados in early 1987 when she was the victim of a set up in which she received a package which contained marijuana and spent a few days in jail before Mick's legal people sorted the whole mess out.

Stones' wives dont seem to have much luck with the law in the Caribbean. In addition to Jo and Jerry spending a few days in jail, Anita ended up in a pretty horrific situation when she was busted in Jamaica in the early 70s and ended up being repeatedly raped before she was released, according to Tony Sanchez' book.

Right now the only thing he's guilty of is being in an unhealthy and co-dependent relationship.
One that both must realize has to end...

Yes...Ronnie does seem to be self destructing, and that's very sad.  Nevertheless, we do not know all the facts, and I too am reserving judgement untill more information is revealed.

As far as I recall, neither Mandy Smith nor her family requested any police action, so there was never any charges sought or brought against him. I cant recall if the cops ever interviewed him though.

That story broke in 1986 just around (or after) she had turned 16. To the best of my knowledge, both parties insisted in any interviews that there was never any under-age sex, so there wasnt really deemed to be a case to answer. Bill admitted years later (I think it was in 'Stone Alone', although I'm not sure) that they actually first had sex when she was 15, but no legal action was ever pursued.

Mick on the other hand hasnt been arrested since the early 70s, although he was very lucky to escape charges in 1987 for that Top of The Pops appearance of 'Lets Work' and again for the song 'Charmed Life' a couple of years back.....

If Ronnie actually smacked the little Russian whore around then he should receive whatever legal charges deserving of such an act.

If the Russian cunt is crying wolf to punish Ronnie for telling her to get the fuck out, apologies owed Wood, and charges should be brought against the disgusting gold digger that is that Russian skank...

From dlisted.com (http://www.dlisted.com/node/35082):

235-year-old Ronnie Wood (no relation to Tiger) of the Rolling Stones was arrested in London last night after he was accused of beating on his 20-year-old girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova. CHILD ABUSE!

Ronnie's rep confirmed that he was arrested, but wouldn't say anything else. A police spokesperson released this statement to the BBC: "We can confirm that a 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with a domestic incident."

He has reportedly been released on bail and will have to answer to the charges in court next month.

Ronnie and Ekaterina started sharing diapers about a year ago when he was still married to his wife of 25 years. Ronnie left his wife for Ekaterina and the two have been shacking up ever since.

Ronnie is getting too old for all of this. Pepaw should be sitting comfortably in a rocking chair, sipping on his hot cider and catching up on his stories on TV. Ronnie should not be throwing babies around like he's Mo'Nique in Precious. He will not get an Oscar for that. Ronnie, let go of the baby, grab the bong and simmer down. You might break a hip or something.

Doubtless it will turn out to be retaliation.  She has been watching Coronation Street here in the UK and tried 'a Rosy'.  Regardless of all that it remains time to welcome back Mick T and put some blues back into the band.

Ronnie Wood held 'for trying to throttle' 21-year-old girlfriend Ekaterina
By Christian Gysin

Ronnie Wood has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting his 20-year-old Russian lover.

Witnesses claim they saw the 61-year-old Rolling Stone slap Ekaterina Ivanova and appear to throttle her while holding a cigarette.

They say Wood dragged her along by her hair and coat and tried to take her handbag from her, while hurling foul language at her.

Age gap: Ronnie Wood, pictured with his Russian girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova, was arrested and bailed on suspicion of assaulting her
Former health centre manager Phillip Legge and his wife Celine told how they were woken by the pair arguing outside their house on the High Street in Claygate, Surrey, on Wednesday night. 'We had just gone to bed at about
10.45pm when we heard this man shouting and
screaming at the top of his voice,' Mr Legge said.
'He was shouting, "You are a f***ing b****" and then "You are a f***ing w****" and it was really loud.
'I could hear a woman screaming for him to leave her alone and initially thought it was two people just having a row.

'But the screaming went on and on and I went downstairs and then out into the street.
'It was then I saw this man dragging a woman down the road.
'She had been on the floor by a shop-front to begin with and he was towering over her screaming abuse into her face. He had really viciously turned on her.'
Mr Legge, 30, said he did not recognise the Rolling Stone, who he said was dragging the woman by her coat collar along the ground before trying to take her handbag from her.
Mr Legge said he saw a struggle between the two while Wood appeared to be holding a cigarette.

Ruxley Towers in Claygate, Surrey, where Ronnie Wood has set up home with Russian girlfriend

'I heard her say: "Ouch...Stop it.'' He then pinned her up against a nearby wall and again he appeared to put his hands around her throat.'
Mr Legge shouted at the man, who turned and walked away, leaving the woman on the floor. 'I then went to her and got her into the house,' he said.
'She was in a terrible state. She was wearing shorts and a striped top and red coat but her hair was all over the place, her tights were ripped and torn and there were grazes all over her legs.' Mr Legge and his 20-year-old pregnant wife claim that as they waited for police to arrive Miss Ivanova spoke repeatedly to Wood on the phone, telling him: 'You're not even sorry - you can't even say sorry.'
They allege that Miss Ivanova smelled heavily of drink and told them that the couple had been to a restaurant in the village where they had rowed, with Miss Ivanova suggesting they should split up.
A waiter at the Bengal Lancer restaurant said Wood drank vodka there by himself before his girlfriend joined him.

Once police arrived at the Legges' house it is understood Miss Ivanova answered some of their questions but refused to make a complaint about Wood's actions. An hour later police took her to the couple's rented folly in Claygate where they arrested Wood shortly after midnight.

Only after she had gone did Mr and Mrs Legge realise the 'Ronnie' she had been talking to was a Rolling Stone. Mr Legge has since given a statement to police.
Wood split from his wife Jo in July last year after meeting Miss Ivanova - who is also known as Kat - and last month their marriage of 23 years ended in a 'quickie' divorce as Mrs Wood walked away with a £6.5million settlement.
Wood and Miss Ivanova moved to Surrey in September where he has taken a year-long lease on the £4,000-a-week four-bedroom Ruxley Towers, which is owned by a member of the French sportswear dynasty Lacoste.
Friends of the guitarist, known for his long-running battles with alcohol, have claimed that he is 'most definitely' drinking again.
A close friend told the Daily Mail: 'They have an extremely volatile relationship - it's very stormy and sexual. One day, Kat will be mocking him for his age and then they will be rowing over his family.'
It is believed that the pair have had a string of rows as Miss Ivanova has been 'nagging' Wood to put Sandymount House, his £3million listed mansion in County Kildare, Ireland, into her name.
But the friend said: 'There is no way that Ronnie can do this as he is being forced to sell a lot of his properties to make a divorce settlement for his wife Jo. But Kat wants proof that he loves her.'
Miss Ivanova is also said to be jealous that Wood has had a rapprochement with his daughter Leah, 31, who refused to talk to him after he left her mother for the former cocktail waitress, and is thought to be upset that he will not spend Christmas with her family.
Last night a police spokesman confirmed that a 62-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault and had been bailed to appear at a Surrey police station in January 'pending further enquiries'.
Wood's spokesman, David Rigg of Project Associates, said yesterday: 'I can confirm that there was an incident last night and that Ronnie Wood was arrested. He has since been released on police bail.
'We have no further statement to make at this time.'

this just made me wonder  - when was the last time a stone was arrested?

Didn't Keith get arrested at an airport during the ABB tour for not having his passport or something like that? I remember an interview with Scorsese where he said he really wished he got it on film.

Oh crap this looks BAD for Ronnie! I bet MICK is furious! This story was covered on the 6:00 and 11:00 TV news in New York, so this story is out there for the world to see. Any publicity is good publicity? Surely not in this case. People didnt take it well with the Chris Brown-Rhianna battering incident. No sympathy for the Devil. This is going to take some major PR work, so I guess MICK has been on the phone with lawyers trying to help diffuse the situation. I cant see the Stones abandoning/replacing Ronnie just yet but this has gotta be the last straw.

The best news for Ronnie right now is that Tiger Woods' idiocy may trump his own in media coverage. Still this could be the final nail for Woody as far as Mick and Keith goes. My bet is that they will stand by him providing it doesn't get too nasty. There is no doubt a lot of mutual love and respect amongst them all, but Ronnie had better get his shit straightened out. Putting the bottle down would prolly be a good start.

AHhh riffy. You know how this will turn out. Ronnie will get some high priced lawyer. Promise to do this program or that. He'll dump the Kat. The Stones may speed up tour preps to keep him busy. Then off they go for one final fling. Little or no chance they actually replace Ronnie at this point. More because of logistics than loyalty. :-[

Ronnie Chocked Lover In Street

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2757114/Ronnie-choked-lover-Ekaterina-Ivanova-in-street.html

By NICK PARKER
and ALEX WEST

ROLLING Stone Ronnie Wood was arrested amid claims that he "choked" his young Russian lover during a violent street bust-up.

Together ... Ronnie Wood and Ekaterina Ivanova

The guitarist, 62, was said to have dragged 20-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova by the scruff of her neck in the 30-minute row.

He was held on suspicion of assault but freed yesterday on police bail pending further inquiries.

Wood had threatened to stub out a cigarette in his Russian lover's FACE as they argued in the street, it was claimed last night.

Police arrested the wrinkly Rolling Stones legend after witnesses claimed they saw him "choking" waif-like waitress Ekaterina while dragging her screaming along a pavement.

Last night it was claimed he only halted the alleged assault after a man heard "gurgling" sounds and shouted at him to stop.

Cops are investigating claims the guitarist hovered drunkenly over the terrified beauty with his cigarette inches from her face during a 30-minute fracas.

Ekaterina - said to have been dragged 20ft by the collar of her blouse and jacket - suffered knee injuries near the pair's Surrey home on Wednesday night. Her tights had been ripped.

Witness Celine Dixon said: "We heard a woman screaming, then saw a man pinning her to the ground.

"He was shouting at her then we heard choking sounds so my boyfriend rushed out to help. When he got outside he saw it was Ronnie and Ekaterina."

Dazed Wood - whose band's hits include Street Fighting Man - is said to have walked away, leaving dazed Ekaterina crying in a shop doorway when challenged by Celine's boyfriend Phillip Legge.

She was helped to Phillip and Celine's nearby home and quizzed by police.

Officers then drove her to the £5million pad she shares with Wood in Claygate, Surrey, and arrested him on suspicion of assault.

The alcoholic rock idol - worth an estimated £70million - spent a night sobering up in a grim cell at Staines Police Station.

He was driven home in a BMW limousine yesterday after being put on police bail pending further inquiries.

He has not yet been charged with any offences.

A police source said: "Ekaterina was very distressed and had cuts on her knees from where it seems she'd been dragged along the street.

"But she was insistent she didn't want police involved or to press charges.

"Despite her refusal, witnesses allege this was a potentially serious assault and he may face charges in any case once the evidence is assessed.

"We're looking at allegations that at one point he had her by the scruff of the neck and her collar was so tight she seemed to be choking."

Witnesses said the bust-up came after the pair met at their favourite Indian restaurant.

One local said: "There was an awful racket."

It is the second time in recent months police have been called to an argument between dad-of-four Wood and Ekaterina - at the centre of his break-up from wife Jo in July of last year.

Sunbathing beauty ... but 'distressed' Ekaterina is said to have suffered cuts during street bust-up with rock idol
In September, the star was thought to have dumped the young beauty after a furious row outside a £5million North London mansion.

It was said she threatened to commit suicide during that row over his plans to have dinner with estranged Jo, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.

Wood and Ekaterina kissed and made up days later and had seemed happy in their new Claygate home.

But pals say the blonde has become increasingly jealous of her craggy-faced lover's continuing closeness to Jo, 54, and their family.

A spokesman for Wood confirmed his arrest, but said: "We have no further statement at this time." Police said a man was arrested in connection with a "domestic incident".

joking aside i  know the Sun is unreliable but bloody hell...

still kats named her price so i guess the lawyers will be getting out the negotiating papers - you know - the folding kind

really tho, in the end, it's all just too crazy isn't it... but only because, in a way, it's so banal...this story and tigers just go to show that no matter how much cash you have you can't buy your way out of  a lot of the same merde the general publíc goes through. It's all a matter of how you choose to conduct yourself...the price they pay is having to do it in public

Ronnie: junior member, least talented (thoug not as big an amateur as some say he is), biggest fuck-up. Still, I don't know if the Stones can work around yet another change in the line-up. So he could very well be the man that ends it all

Since day one, hasn't everyone including the media made it a point, to say Kat is Russian... Even more so than her age? I didn't like the adjectives used by a poster earlier, but it wasn't her "Russianess" that was offensive or even different than what everyone says...
Why the hell is she always described as Russian? It reminds me of when I talk to older people, who seem to need to point out when a person they are talking about is b;ack, jewish or mexican...  I know in alot of Europe, Russians are still hated deeply. I've met old Pollocks who will refer to Russians with so much hate, even more than Germans, b/c of what happened after WWII. If you can forgive Germans, and still be pissed at Russians... they must've been bad... is this where it stems from? Do the Brits also still cary this same resentment?
This is my last Ronnie post in this thread, ever... you're all fast and hard and droning like a bunch droniacs, with hard ons! I will post on Ronnie again in 2010 when he's been replaced.

IVANOVA 'WON'T PRESS CHARGES AGAINST WOOD
'RONNIE WOOD's girlfriend EKATERINA IVANOVA is refusing to press charges against the ROLLING STONES rocker after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting her, according to reports.
The 62-year-old guitarist was held by police on Wednesday (02Dec09) after allegedly choking Ivanova during a 30-minute heated argument outside a restaurant in Surrey, England.
Reports claim the star was drunk as he furiously pushed and shoved his Russian lover in the street - but the 20 year old doesn't want to file a complaint against Wood, according to Britain's The Sun.
A police source tells the publication, "Ekaterina was very distressed and had cuts on her knees from where it seems she'd been dragged along the street. But she was insistent she didn't want police involved or to press charges.
"Despite her refusal, witnesses allege this was a potentially serious assault and he may face charges in any case once the evidence is assessed. We're looking at allegations that at one point he had her by the scruff of the neck and her collar was so tight she seemed to be choking."
Ivanova's mother Irina, who lives in London, claims her daughter is recovering well after the altercation, insisting, "My daughter's doing fine. She is a good girl and a brave girl."
Wood was released from police custody on Thursday (03Dec09) after posting bail.
He split from longterm wife Jo in July last year (08) after his fling with the waitress was exposed.

I don't find it sad that Ronnie spent one lousy night in jail-maybe he should spend a few more.

Even if half (or a third even) of the story is made up shite to sell "news"papers, drunkeness and fighting in public places deserves to be treated this way in civilized society - even if you are a Rolling Stone.

I'm unaware of any specific historical resentment in the UK towards Russians, specifically - even during the Cold War.

I can see what you're getting at, though. I think the subtext you're suggesting is one that demeans her as not only an opportunistic gold-digger and homewrecker who was employed in a dubious profession, but also as another freeloading immigrant - the latter of which is certainly a favourite issue in the press these days.

To be honest, I dont think its really a big deal. You could also interpret it as another means of highlighting what an unlikely couple they are (ie he's English and she's Russian). They do the same thing when in EVERY article their age gap is mentioned. (The UK tabloids have a bizarre obsession with age. Every time you see a story on anyone, there's a mention of their age as if its ALWAYS relevant to the story).  I think they just emphasise the nationality thing in the way they emphasise the age difference as a way of accentuating their angle on the whole thing, which is basically along the lines of either 'how the fuck can THIS possibly work?' or 'Apart from her youth/his money what is the attraction?'

I mean, I can see how his alcoholism could affect the band, but what about being stupid enough to hit a woman? How does this relate to the Rolling Stones exactly? I mean, obviously it's ridiculous, but I don't see the link with RS.

Another Tour is already tenuous at best (Charlie's reluctance to continue/Mick's solo projects/Keith's arthritis and OWN alcoholism). They don't seem too interested as evidenced by the lack of any activity in so long.

They aren't going to replace Ronnie. It won't happen, imo. Too late in the game.

This could well be the nail in the coffin. And really, I guess we cannot blame them.

Tears are now welling up in my eyes....

OK, this may be a stupid question, but why do you guys think the fact that Ronnie is behaving like an idiot could have anything to do with the Stones' future as a band?

I mean, I can see how his alcoholism could affect the band, but what about being stupid enough to hit a woman? How does this relate to the Rolling Stones exactly? I mean, obviously it's ridiculous, but I don't see the link with RS.

Unless its something which could affect possible tour sponsorship, I dont see it as an issue.

As the Stones are inactive, his current state isnt affecting his ability to play either.

I would imagine though that as has often been the case in recent years, he would be getting the 'sort yourself out or else' pre-tour ultimatum any day now....

I wasnt just referring to solo albums. What other 'projects' has he been involved with since the last tour ended? None that I can see. So I can't see how he's doing anything that would detract from any involvement with the Stones.

The 'Charlie quitting' story has already been dismissed as garbage as well. Which it is.

There's nothing 'concrete' about a tour purely because thats the way these people do business. They dont announce anything until things are signed, sealed and delivered. However, as you well know, a tour doesnt just materialise out of nowhere around the time they do their regular publicity stunt in New York to announce it. Things kick in several months before that. And THAT isn't speculative.

The Stones will be touring in 2010. I've no doubt about that. This time next year I'm sure your wallet will be a few grand lighter once again and you'll be quite happy about it!  ;)

I hope you are right. Keno says the same: start would be around the fall of next year, then all the way up 2012, when the Stones turn 50.

I'm not that big of an optimist, I don't see them tour the world for 2 years again. Personally I think we should all be very happy if we see the occasional gig at obvious locations, with Ronnie. If the tabloids got this story right and the Stones want to continue, there's only one replacement.

Definitely a lot less shows for me next time. It just isn't financially feasible anymore (well, it never really was, to be honest!!) and its going to take an enormous change in their M.O. re: prices, venue sizes and setlists for me to change that attitude. (Then again, I say that every time and end up going to double the amount of shows I originally intended to see......)

I still wouldn't miss seeing them at some stage on a tour, though. It'll definitely be Europe only, however. The high prices and increasing chances of shows being cancelled with each successive tour (often for spurious reasons) have made a transatlantic trip simply too much of a risk.

I dont think they'll do a 2-year tour in the way theyve done before. If they do, maybe it'll just involve less shows and more downtime between each leg of a tour.

The Stones dont do 'occasional gigs', unfortunately.  There have only been three occasions in the last 40 years where they've performed concerts which didn't take place at a time when they were on tour

Knebworth 1976 (two months after their Euro tour ended)

El Mocambo 1977 (two shows taped for a live album)

Oshawa 1979 (two short 45-minute sets performed as guest appearances at Keith's CNIB benefit gigs)

That's it. Unfortunately they seem incapable of functioning on anything but the biggest scale possible.

Ronnie spent the night in jail. That is fvcking sad. I feel sorry for him.
:'(

Why do you feel sorry just for HIM? IF the reports are accurate, dont you think he just may have deserved it?

Well I feel incredibly SAD for RONNIE because he has let himself spiral out of control. It IS SAD that a man who has 'it all' is going down hard. In a way I love RONNIE and when you love someone, you always want to see the good side and support them, and never give up on them even when it looks like they have given up on themselves. I wish there was a way to help him, but we all know that first step is getting and STAYING sober. If that doesnt happen, there is no saving RONNE, he has already lost so much. My observation of alcoholics is that when they get this out of control, they mostly dont remember what they did when they were drunk, they black out and then dont really know how badly they behaved. Jo always forgave Ronnie and maybe she kept things like this quiet. She protected him where as Kat is trying to get him to do things for her so she can and will use this as leverage. RONNIE better be careful or he will end up with nothing, and alone. Thats why I'm sad. I'm not saying it isnt his fault. It is. But it's a damn fvcking shame to see him unravel.

More importantly from a band perspective, whilst no charges have been brought at present, if something happens and he does get done for assault, I would imagine that potential tour sponsors could well not want to touch the band (he'll also have to be medically insured for a tour, and if his health deteriorates, then thats another problem with regard to sponsorships)- and additionally, he may have some problems with visas etc if he has a recent criminal record for violent conduct.

Whilst I've no real doubt the Stones will tour in the near future, either or both of the above worst case scenarios could end up making the rest of the band's decision about what to do about him a lot easier...and if it means them potentially losing millions in revenue, then I've no doubt they literally WOULD drop him like a stone if it came to it.

Shades of 40 years ago when they had a big US tour coming up in 1969 and dropped the band's founding member due to a combination of potential difficulties with him getting a visa due to a criminal record and also because of his increasing unreliability.

If you want to go to as many shows as you did last time, you will need to be ready to throw at least 10,000 down... those $500 tix will be close to double that, and then add in per diems to travel ect... 6 plus shows, right? Like I did... double the cost easy. I'm not even considering going outside of my state... Dallas, San Antonio, Houston or Austin and that is if I even will go at all...

Given any potential dollar loss due to RONNIE, the decision will always side with turning a profit. If the STONES camp fears it will hurt revenue, this could change everything. Ronnie could be kicked out, if it's too risky to keep him. The court of public opinion has been known to judge harshly! Especially on the issues of domestic violence and cheating husbands. When the shit hits the fan, I'll be sitting on the can, when the whip comes down,

Make no doubt about, he IS replaceable if the other members are ready to tour. There is too much money at stake and unless it's a lead singer or in some cases a lead guitarist, replacing members doesn't really affect the bottom line. Even if 10,000 people stay home solely because Ronnie isn't there, whoever replaces him will be making far less and it would offset any fan attrition.

And I have had many shows cancelled from under me in recent years or seen shows with replacement members due to visa issues. (Hanoi Rocks, Paul D'ianno, Rose Tattoo, Pete Way of UFO).

Personally I am more worried about being subjected to substandard performances such as Werchter 2007 than showing up minus a member.

Well I hate to kick a man when he's down, but if financial concerns could make them drop Ronnie I'll take it, musical concerns should have done that years ago, let's see...1984 maybe, when he fell off the wagon the first time with his freebasing. Nice guy, huge liability.

Thing is, who are thy going to draft in? Waddy Wachtel is a good player but looks like a creep and has had "legal issues"...the obivous replacement is...Mick Taylor of course, he'd need to lose about 80 pounds though, he'd probably go for it and he's legit, musically and historically.

Not a bad idea actually, the guy is much more talented as seen on some YouTube videos than what he's shown on stage with the Stones so far. It would be less "charged" than bringing Taylor back too.

IMO if they replace Wood it would have to be either Taylor or another high profile, well respected "God" like Clapton or Beck. And they'd have to make him a Stone and include him in all the promos for it to go over well with the casual fans, their main audience. There are plenty of people good enough for the part, but people will be disappointed if they don't recognize him.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but I would love to see Slash with the Stones as well. He's got the swagger and the "God" status. And he's a sloppy blues player much like Woody and Keith. Also Izzy's rhythm guitar style is very similar to Keith's so he has a lot of practice.

I wanna keep Ronnie though.

Title: Re: Ronnie arrested

Disagree with the premise that if Ronnie is replaced it has to be with a name or a "God".
And the SS Taylor sailed 35 years ago...

A lesser known guy with serious chops could bring some real fire to the band, and more importantly, not run the risk of showing up Keef.

Taylor is the only option. It would be ridiculous if they pick up a fresh face. Clapton or Beck would probably mean some cool shows, but it wouldn't be the Stones anymore for me. I'd probably check it out though.

Title: Re: Ronnie arrested

And Taylor means "Time waits for no one" !

That setup would work for me and Blondie can step up his playing a bit and switch to electric to supplement Keith who certainly won't be playing any better than the last time.

This guy I know who manages tribute acts as well as promoting the occassional retro packages with a backing band and the singer with the few hits coming up and singing thier song then making way for the next one hit wonder once told me "The people are coming to hear the songs, they don't care who is playing them." I would have to say he is right. He would be missed by the die-hards but the masses would shrug as they are enjoying the hits they came to hear.

How would MT feel about playing material recorded during the Ronnie years? Or,what about a new album. Highly doubtful Taylor would play on that. As much as I love the Taylor era.It ain't gonna happen. Let's face it. It's gonna be Ronnie on the next tour. He'll get the stern warnings, from the Stones stern warning dept. He'll dump Kat. Their will be little or no legal repercussions. The scary part for Ronnie will be after the next tour ends.

Weeping Ronnie Wood: I want my Jo back

Katie Hind

Ronnie Wood has finally realised he made a big, big, huge mistake by ditching wife JO and is now desperately trying to win her back.

I can reveal that the Rolling Stones legend broke down after polishing off two bottles of vodka on Friday night.

It followed a three-week-long bust-up with his now ex-girlfriend EKATERINA IVANOVA, 20, which ended in him dumping her.

Ronnie's son TYRONE, 26, and bodyguard were so worried that they raced to his home in Esher, Surrey, to check that he was all right. It was then he told how he deeply regrets leaving Jo two years ago.

I'm told: "Ronnie would do anything to get Jo back. He still loves her to death and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

"Ronnie told Tyrone and his bodyguard he wants to hatch a plan to get Jo back. That is his main priority - not Ekaterina. He knows he did the wrong thing ditching Jo and realises he fell for the wrong girl in Ekaterina." Too right.

Ronnie, 62, and the Russian ex-waitress rowed because he refused to sign over his house in Ireland to her as a mark of his commitment.

They went their separate ways after Ronnie was arrested on suspicion of assaulting Ekaterina. She has refused to press charges.

Ekaterina begged him to give her the house in County Kildare - where they initially fled together in July 2008 - after his divorce is settled next month.

My source said: "She wanted him to show how much he loves her - to put his money where his mouth is. But he refused.

"He suspected she didn't love him as much as he'd thought. Now he wants things to be as they were before."

Three words, Ronnie: You'll be lucky.

Trouble is Ronnie - you can't always get what you want

Ekaterina Ivanova: "Ronnie wants me out"

Saturday, December 5 2009, 18:50 GMT

By Sarah Rollo, Entertainment Reporter

Rex Features

Ronnie Wood has reportedly told his Russian girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova to move out following an alleged altercation earlier this week.

The Rolling Stones guitarist was arrested on suspicion of assault on Wednesday night and spent the evening in custody before being released on bail the following morning.

According to The Sun, Ivanova, 20, is doing everything she can to convince Wood to let her stay, having texted a friend saying: "Ronnie wants me out and I don't know what to do."

"I think she realises Ronnie is serious. He's had enough of the whole thing. They are both fiery but as far as Ron is concerned he picked Katia out of the gutter. He can just as easily put her back," an insider said.

"Katia's at her wit's end because she knows she is nothing without him. On the other hand, she knows Ronnie could be charged. She doesn't want the police involved but she will fight to save the relationship no matter what."

Wood, 62, began dating the barmaid last July and recently started divorce proceedings from his estranged wife Jo. The former model, 54, cited the star's admitted adultery as the reason for the break-up.

Really???
I predict Tiger will pull a Duchovny and declare himself a "sex addict".
He will then enter Rehab (hopefully NOT with Dr Drew).
These things are getting very predictable.

JO WOOD'S FORGETTABLE EX
Former model Jo Wood has revealed she managed to get over her ex-husband Ronnie Wood - who she was married to for 23 years - in just two months.

Jo Wood got over her ex-husband Ronnie Wood in just two months.

The 54-year-old star - who split from the Rolling Stones rocker last year after 23 years of marriage when he left her for Russian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova - has revealed she had forgotten about her former lover after just a few weeks of being on her own.

She explained: "I mean I was heartbroken. But truly, it didn't take me that long to... I can't say to get over it, not completely. But I did start finding my way out of it quite quickly. Two months! Ha ha!"

While she was initially saddened by the breakdown of her relationship, the former model quickly found her feet and began attending showbiz parties with her new celebrity friends.

She told The Observer Food Monthly: "I thought, 'Your family are all here and they love their mum. And you really are very lucky. So let's go, Jo.'

"I went to this function and that, which I hadn't really done before because we never went out. And I made all these friends! All these new friends. I was pushed into being a single girl. I wouldn't have chosen it, but when it happened, I thought, 'Oh, this isn't so bad afterall!' And I was off. I was out every night.

"Was it a liberation? Yes, because all I concentrated on, it was all about Ronnie. I wanted to do everything to look after him. And now - it's me. Just me."

No sympathy for Ronnie Wood's Russian girlfriend Kat the doormat

By Polly Hudson 11/12/2009

I wasn’t even looking… but, unbelievably, this week I’ve actually found a woman I respect even LESS than Jordan. It’s a Christmas miracle! Come on down, Ekaterina Ivanova – and hang your head in shame while you’re at it please.

Last week, Ronnie Wood (age 715) was arrested on suspicion of assault, accused of choking her, dragging her down the street by her hair, threatening to put his cigarette out on her face and screaming abuse at her.

He spent the night locked up before being released on bail after she refused to press charges. This week, one half of the couple spent a whole day in tears, begging the other to give their “relationship” another go.

Guess who? Yup, her.

Let’s put aside for a second the dodginess of a girl who would sleep with a bloke who had been married for 23 years. And the ickiness of the undeniable fact that if Ronnie wasn’t rich and famous she wouldn’t have given him a first look.

(I’m not being ageist by the way – I can see the appeal of an older man, just not one who looks like a deflated gremlin with the same hairstyle as Ken Dodd and legs like twigs. Ronnie Wood wasn’t even fit when he was young, four centuries ago.)

But what kind of woman would allow herself to be treated like that, and then LITERALLY beg for more. Is she really that desperate for money and celebrity?

Women the world over are trapped with violent partners because they don’t have the money or support network to survive on their own.

Kat is 20, has no responsibilities and a mum living nearby who, bearing in mind she immediately took her in when Ronnie kicked her out, seems to be there for her daughter unconditionally. Kat has no excuse, and no reason to have to stay with him.

Every detail to emerge from the RonKat saga is grim and depressing – and I’m not even talking about their his’n’hers Ugg boots.

Their last big argument before the street-fighting display – which also ended with the police being called – was reportedly because Kat was nagging Ron to put his £3million mansion in Ireland into her name to “prove his love for her.” Because nothing says a man really cares like real estate, right?

The couple apparently spent the night together after Ronnie was released because, says “a friend”, “they still have very strong feelings for each other. But Ronnie dumped Kat shortly afterwards.”

So he’s arrested on suspicion of assaulting her in public, spends the night with her for young times’ sake and then HE dumps HER. I’d say it was priceless if I didn’t think she’d been with him for the money all along.

Wood may have been able to shower Ekaterina with material possessions beyond her wildest dreams, not to mention an Access All Areas pass to Celebville.

But now she’s free from him she can finally get her hands on the one thing he could never give her – her self-respect. Good luck with that, Kat.

The smile that says I'm happy to be single again: Ronnie Wood beams after splitting from Ekaterina

By Sara Nathan and Simon Cable
Last updated at 2:01 AM on 11th December 2009

Their stormy 18 month romance ended Ronnie Wood's marriage to long-term wife Jo Wood.

But despite his previous passionate love for his much younger lover, it looks like the Rolling Stones rocker couldn't be happier to be single again after dumping his much younger girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova.

Spotted on the doorstep of his rented Surrey home yesterday, the 62-year-old beamed as he waved off two visiting friends.

Old, free and single: Ronnie Wood looks thrilled to be single again as he smiles on the doorstep of his Surrey home

It was never going to be a great love story. So after 18 stormy months of rows and recriminations, Ronnie Wood has ended his affair with a waitress more than 40 years his junior.

The guitarist broke up with Russian girlfriend Ivanova, 20, days after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting her in a row in the street.

They made up briefly but Wood, who left his wife of 23 years for Miss Ivanova, has now decided it is over for good.

And the news comes from none other than his former wife, Jo.

Speaking exclusively to the Mail at her Surrey mansion, where she has created a 'pop-up' restaurant called Mrs Paisley's Lashings, Mrs Wood was quick to point out that Miss Ivanova's exit did not mean she and Ronnie would get back together.

Devastated: A lonely-looking Ekaterina Ivanova was seen in a restaurant in central London on Monday night, for the first time since being dumped by Ronnie Wood

'I was very upset to hear about what happened last week and I've spoken to Ronnie,' she said.

'In fact, I called him after he came out of the nick to see how he was coping and he told me not to worry and that he's going to be OK.

'But he said he has split up with that girl for good. It's over. He won't be going back to her. There's no going back for him, he's adamant about that.

'We're still speaking and he's been talking with our daughter Leah, too, and told her the same thing.

'But before people ask or assume that we might be getting back together, we're not. Absolutely not. I'm very happy being single at the moment and I'm enjoying life.'

Mrs Wood plans to sell the lavish £2million Surrey home she shared with Ronnie to move to a pied a terre in London.

She added: 'I've decided to sell the house here and move out and I'm looking to buy a lovely flat in town, close to all the parties and so I can be near to my friends.

'This house has so much history and so many memories for me but it's time for someone else with a big family to enjoy it.

'My kids are getting older and I don't want to be rattling around here on my own.'
Miss Ivanova, spotted this week sitting alone at a Chinese restaurant in Holborn, Central London, is believed to be 'devastated' at the break-up.

She is staying with her mother after leaving Wood's rented Surrey home. She told police she did not wish to press charges against Wood, who allegedly tried to throttle her in the street during a row in the early hours of last Thursday.

At one point, it was alleged, he threatened to stub his cigarette out on her face and onlookers claimed they saw him screaming abuse and dragging her along the ground.

Wood was arrested and spent the night in a cell at Staines police station before being released on bail. He is due to return to the station in January.

Friends of the guitarist, who is known for his long-running battle with alcohol, have claimed he is 'most definitely' drinking again.

One told the Daily Mail that Wood and his girlfriend had an 'extremely volatile relationship', with Miss Ivanova mocking him about his age and arguing constantly about his family.

In September, police were called following another row in which Miss Ivanova is said to have threatened suicide after Wood planned to have a family dinner with his wife.

The Woods ended their marriage in July last year when Ronnie's affair with Miss Ivanova was made public.

Jo Wood was devastated by the break-up, but after years of looking after Ronnie on the rock and roll circuit, she realised it could be a chance to change her life.

She went on to appear on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. The couple, who have two grown-up children, were divorced last month.

RONNIE WOOD GOES HOME FOR CHRISTMAS...BUT FOR ONE DAY ONLY.
Ronnie Wood has been invited back for Christmas lunch
Sunday December 13,2009

By Adam Helliker and Lesley-Ann Jones AFTER being publicly humiliated by Ronnie Wood leaving her for a Russian nightclub hostess, his ex-wife Jo Wood has invited the Rolling Stone guitarist for Christmas lunch.

But the festive olive branch is for ONE day only.

Jo, 54 – who since the marriage break-up has forged her own celebrity career starring on TV’s Strictly Come Dancing – has asked the troubled musician to her house in Surrey to share what she is calling “one last family lunch”.

Her invitation has come at a time when several of the hellraising rock veteran’s friends are voicing their concern at his state of mind after his split with 20-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova who he met at the Capricorn lapdancing bar in London’s Soho.

They fear for the safety and sanity of Ronnie, 62, who has been lying “low and desperate” in his rented Surrey house since the end of his 18-month relationship with Ekaterina.

“Ronnie is back drinking heavily and says he has nothing to live for,” says one source close to the rocker. “He’s mentioned topping himself, which is not like him at all. He keeps moaning on about what a mug he’s been. He can’t believe he fell for that chick, and now says she must have seen him coming.

“He realised she was nothing but a gold-digger when she started banging on about him putting the place in Ireland in her name to ‘prove that he loved her’,” he said, referring to Sandymount House, Wood’s £3million estate in County Kildare.

“That was his wake-up call. No, he shouldn’t have gone for her and he’s paying the price for that now,” said his pal, referring to Ronnie’s recent arrest after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in the street during a row.

Wood was held overnight at Staines police station. He will face further questioning in January. Ekaterina, who is staying with her mother in London, has refused to press charges.

The close pal said: ‘‘ ‘Mr Hyde’ came out, as he puts it. Kat pushed him that inch too far, and he went over the edge. He’s as low as I’ve ever known him, drinking himself stupid.

“As far as he’s concerned, she’s to blame for him losing Jo, the respect of his kids and the home he loved. He knows he’s been a total prat and that he’s got to reap what he’s sown.”

Wood also lost contact with his daughter Leah, 29, who was said to be “horrified” by her father’s behaviour.

But she has agreed to attend the lunch on Christmas Day. She will bring along husband Jack Macdonald and their six-month-old daughter Maggie.

“Jo was with Ronnie for over 30 years and, believe it or not, still loves him despite what he’s done,” explains one of her closest friends.

“She’s worried about him. She certainly does not like the thought of him being so depressed at Christmas. He said he was going to Ireland on his own. Her one condition is that he doesn’t drink.”

Jo has also revealed another reason why she wants Ronnie for lunch: in the New Year, Leah plans to start a new life in Australia.

“This is probably the last chance Ronnie will have to see the family together,” says Jo’s friend.

“And Jo is talking about selling the family home and buying somewhere in central London and Australia.”

Meanwhile, the dishevelled Ronnie has only the company of a burly, paid minder and is fast becoming a recluse.

It is feared he may not pull himself together in time to work with Mick Jagger and the rest of the Stones on their new album or next summer’s tour.

Since their divorce, Jo, a mother of three, has been busy building her Organics beauty line and reviving her modelling career. “Ronnie set me free,” she said. “What makes a relationship in later life is all the back story, the shared history, the photos, the memories.

“You can’t just invent all that with someone new, it takes a lifetime to build. You can’t wipe out the old and bring on the new, as Ronnie has found to his cost. But I still love him.”

Ronnie had an unexpected visitor yesterday, when snooker legend Jimmy White knocked on his door. The pals are regulars at the local Wisley Golf Club.

I think she'll always look out for him - as long as they're in the same hemisphere and it's physically possible - but from everything I've read in the last few months, the wake-up call she got suggests that she's going to move on. To even talk about moving down under would be a total break.

Sounds like 2010 will be either sink or swim for Ronnie. If anyone 'needs a fucking tour' now, it's him. Hopefully the chance to refocus on his music will help him sort himself out.

EKATERINA IVANOVA 'FREE' OF RONNIE

Ronnie Wood's ex-girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova, 20, says she feels "free" now she has split from the 62-year-old Rolling Stones rocker.

The 20-year-old Russian waitress - whose turbulent relationship with the 62-year-old Rolling Stones rocker ended this week following a string of explosive rows, the latest of which saw him arrested for allegedly assaulting her - says she can act her "own age" now she is rid of Ronnie.

She said: "I feel like I'm free at last. Now I can enjoy acting my own age and not feel guilty about it."

Following their separation, Ekaterina has left the home the pair shared in Esher, Surrey, South East England, and has moved in with her mother in north London. Ronnie has been hiding out at his house since the break-up and his arrest on December 2.

Although Ronnie's private life is in turmoil his ex-wife Jo Wood has offered him an olive branch and invited him to spend Christmas with her.

The 54-year-old former model is planning a festive family celebration at the home she shared with the musician in Kingston, Surrey, and wants him to be their.

Jo - who is selling the property - also wants to give daughter Leah, 31, a good send-off because she is planning to move to Australia in the New Year with her husband Jack Macdonald and their six-month-old daughter Maggie.

A friend of Jo's said: "This is probably the last chance Ronnie will have to see the family together. And Jo is talking about selling the family home and buying somewhere in central London and Australia."

However, Jo has issued Ronnie, who has battled alcoholism for years, his invite with one condition - he is not allowed to drink.

The pal added: "Jo was with Ronnie for over 30 years and, believe it or not, still loves him despite what he's done. She's worried about him. She certainly does not like the thought of him being depressed at Christmas. He said he was going to Ireland on his own. Her one condition is that he doesn't drink."

Jo and Ronnie also have a son, Tyrone, together and Jo has a son, Jamie, from a previous relationship.

I'm sure it won't make for pleasant reading.

She did it even faster than I thought!!

Her 'riches to ragarse' tale of woe will be in 'Hello' magazine this week!!

(as you can see, she's had the necessary makeover to fit the tone of the magazine..)

I reckon Ronnie is really kicking himself for ever getting involved with her, that will be his biggest regret leaving Jo for her, & now this in the gossip rags.

'Ronnie Wood, the Goblin King': Former lover Ekaterina Ivanova pulls no punches

By Anny Shaw and Richard Simpson
Last updated at 10:55 AM on 14th December 2009

She refused to press charges against him after he allegedly tried to throttle her in the street.
But Ronnie Wood’s young Russian lover has not waited long to exact her revenge.
Days after she went home to her mother, Ekaterina Ivanova has broken her silence about their rocky 18-month relationship – and pulled no punches.
The 21-year old Russian-born waitress described alcoholic Wood, who is 41 years her senior, as the ‘evil Goblin King’.

'Princess in the tower': Ekaterina Ivanova likens her 18-month affair with Ronnie Wood to a fairy tale

She said: ‘The whole thing started off like a fairy tale. But then it felt like an evil fairy tale.

'When Ronnie and I moved into a tower, my friends were laughing and saying I was like the princess trapped in the tower. He went all Jekyll and Hyde. I’d be trapped there with an evil Goblin King.’

Bad romance: Ekaterina likened the 62-year-old Rolling Stone to the Goblin King

The couple had been sharing a rented mock castle with a turret in Claygate, Surrey, until a drunken Wood allegedly attacked her in the street nearby.

Witnesses claimed they saw Wood ‘choking’ Miss Ivanova as he dragged her along the pavement in a headlock. She subsequently returned to her mother’s council flat in central London – and began negotiations to sell her story.

Miss Ivanova told Hello! magazine that Wood’s complete dependence on drink made him act like a child and made him impossible to live with.
She said: ‘On the day of my birthday, he woke me up with champagne and caviar, but the thing is I had a couple of glasses and Ronnie carried on drinking.
'We went to a restaurant that he’d booked, and they brought out a really beautiful cake and all the waiters were singing “happy birthday”, and he was so drunk it was really awkward.’
She went on: ‘I just don’t think he could handle it (drinking) so well. Even if he wasn’t nasty, he would start repeating the same jokes and I found them really irritating.

Back to reality: Ekaterina takes the tube following her split from from Rolling Stone Ronnie last week

'When we first met, I drank a lot but then I just couldn’t keep up. He would sit there and drink and I wouldn't feel the need to. I would say, "You can carry on drinking, but all you are doing is pushing me away."

'We would have the best nights out, then I would know when to stop and he wouldn’t. You need to be really strong to live with someone like that. I am strong but I can’t be bothered.’

Miss Ivanova added: ‘I grew out of him. I just thought, what’s the point of being with an older man if he acts about 12?

'He was like a child with tantrums when he was drunk, throwing water bottles and doing impressions of my voice. It was like trying to keep a child under control. In the end I was so unimpressed by everything. I found it very fake.

Lap of luxury: Ekaterina steps out of Wood's chauffeur-driven car

Jo Wood has invited Ronnie to spend Christmas with her and the children following his split from Ekaterina

'I had an empty feeling inside. I thought, “What a pathetic person, I don’t do anything.” All I would do is sit at home, light up scented candles, watch TV, and order some clothes on the internet.’

Miss Ivanova claimed that Wood was desperate to make the relationship work but she decided enough was enough. ‘

At the end I think he needed to be mothered. I think that’s the kind of person he needs to be with. I tried and I tried but it didn’t make me happy. I thought, “I’m only 21, why should I sit here worrying about him?”.’

Wood is understood to have been invited to dine with his family over Christmas by Jo, his ex-wife who was married to him for 23 years.

Miss Ivanova said: ‘I have a lot of respect for Jo now, because he’s a handful. I don’t know how she did it. I couldn’t. She seems to be better off without him, way happier. But who can he live with if she can’t do it and I can’t do it?’

Meanwhile, the Russian beauty has had to swap such luxuries as being ferried about in a chauffeur-driven car for travelling on the London Underground.

The former cocktail waitress's lavish lifestyle was abruptly ended last week when the couple split after a string of explosive rows.

Ekaterina is now said to be staying at her mother's council house on a London estate - a far cry from the huge Surrey mansion she shared with Wood.

Earlier this month, Wood was arrested on suspicion of assaulting Ekaterina after a drunken row in the street.

It was the latest in a string of heated arguments between the pair.

In September, Ekaterina is said to have threatened suicide after Wood planned to have a family dinner with his ex-wife Jo.

Ekaterina's grandmother today spoke out against the ageing rocker.

The full interview with Ekaterina appears in the current issue of Hello!

According to the Sunday Mirror, Grandma Lyudmila, 76, claims the Rolling Stone should pay the 21-year-old Russian compensation for making her life hell.

She told the newspaper: 'He should pay her for the torture he put her through. She deserves it.'

Wood left Jo, his wife of 23 years, after meeting Ekaterina in a seedy escort bar in Soho, London. But Ekaterina has now taken a swipe at Rolling Stone Wood, telling the News of the World: 'There were always three people in our relationship.'

A source close to Wood told the newspaper: 'Kat always moaned that he talked to Jo regularly.
'They had many huge rows about it.'

Meanwhile, Jo has invited Wood to spend Christmas with her and the four children.

Jo, 54, is selling the £13million mansion they shared in Kingston, Surrey, and would like the family there one final time.

She also wants to give a proper send-off to their daughter Leah, 30, who is planning to move to Australia in the New Year with husband Jack and baby Maggie.

But his spokesman said last night that he had decided not to take up Jo’s invitation.
Jo said: ‘I’m very happy being single at the moment.’

"The Goblin King""????  :blankfriggingstare1 OK, first of all, she really could use some glasses, because that certain King looks something like that in my book:

Sorry, couldn't resist  ;D

Now, on a more serious note, I can't believe Ronnie didn't see all that coming and he's realizing it NOW. Jesus Christ, how many times does he have to ruin everything for himself and his family to realize he needs to change?

Looking at Kat's recent makeover picture brings to mind the lyric from Tombstone Blues - "But the tears on her cheeks are from laughter".

Maybe this is the push Ronnie will need to realize he needs help and treat it as such instead of a spa stay as usual.  I hope so.

Ronnie is a great reminder that no matter how much talent and money ect you got, it won't make you happy if you are selfish. self centered... and I know Ronnie gives to charities, that isn't going to make him stop thinking of himself in his personal relations... If you can't be happy with the the cute 21 yr old or the awesome person Jo is, then wake up ronnie, it ain't them homey... it's you!!!!

"... he would start repeating the same jokes and I found them really irritating."

Replace "jokes" with "guitar licks" -- that's how I feel about Ronnie's playing.

Fire him.

I see she traded "cocktail waitress" for "artist" !
To be honest, I didn't expect her to be that cynical. I kind of saw her as a groupie/party girl who just enjoyed the money & rock lifestyle... But it was all much more calculated than that, it seems. That makeover photo cracks me up !

Ron Wood 'evil Goblin King,' says much-younger ex Ekaterina Ivanova
By Vicki Hyman/The Star-Ledger
December 14, 2009, 9:25AM

Ekaterina Ivanonva, the former girlfriend of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, claims Wood was such a heavy drinker that she ended up having to mother him. The two split after he allegedly throttled her on the street earlier this month.

Ekaterina Ivanova, the 21-year-old former cocktail waitress who latched on to 41-years-her-senior Ronnie Wood, has left the craggy Rolling Stone after he allegedly throttled her on the street earlier this month, according to a splashy photo spread in Hello! magazine, the Daily Mail reports.

She claims that Wood, who left his age-appropriate and long-suffering wife Jo for Ivanova, was such a heavy drinker that she ended up having to play mother to him. "He was like a child with tantrums when he was drunk, throwing water bottles and doing impressions of my voice. It was like trying to keep a child under control. In the end I was so unimpressed by everything," she says. "I grew out of him. I just thought, what’s the point of being with an older man if he acts about 12?"

The point, for 18 months at least, was sharing a high-flying lifestyle with a famous rocker, including living in a mock castle in a storybook English village. But shockingly, that was not fulfillling for Ivanova: "I had an empty feeling inside. I thought, 'What a pathetic person, I don’t do anything.' All I would do is sit at home, light up scented candles, watch TV, and order some clothes on the internet.'" Sounds pretty ideal ... right up to the point where Wood was arrested on suspicion of assaulting Ivanova during a drunken fight.

"The whole thing started off like a fairy tale. But then it felt like an evil fairy tale," she says. "'When Ronnie and I moved into a tower, my friends were laughing and saying I was like the princess trapped in the tower. He went all Jekyll and Hyde. I’d be trapped there with an evil Goblin King."

GINDA  i hope you're right.  but this isn't ronnie's first excursion over to the dark side.  he's been alcoholic forever, it will be very difficult for him.  if he really choked her and pulled her down the street, he's an asshole, too.

miss you, ginda! :Youmakeagrownmancrylikejoey
