Chuck Berry has postponed his entire UK tour until March 2010.

The 83-year-old blues legend was due to play a lengthy jaunt around the UK starting in Liverpool on Saturday (November 21).

However, promoters have issued a statement citing 'a lack of lead-in time to prepare the marketing and advertising for what promises to be a great rock ‘n’ roll tour.'

The exact dates will be announced shortly. Tickets for the original shows will remain valid.

After having to get a refund for "the show that never was" in Doncaster last year,I was going to get a ticket at last minute for Leeds or Sheffield but he's pulled out again ! Hope he is in good health. I can't believe that Chuck ever prepares for a show .

I find it all to be a little suspect, myself.

Due to his age, there probably is a little more planning and organisation involved in his touring, though surely not enough to cancel a whole series of shows?

Chuck's son is an occasional poster over on the Tell Me Board: maybe he will shed some light on this at some point.

I have seen the great man on stage twice - Shepherd's Bush '03 and Hackney '08 - and the man is still the grandmaster of rock 'n roll: such an entertainer and still so commanding.
