Title: Pop A Cork In The New Wine Revolution!
Post by wiseblood on Nov 17th, 2009 at 11:26am
You all probably got this e-mail this morning.  Every time I get messages from RS Inc. I have to have a laugh.  Wine?  There is no end to the branding of the tongue.

It's laughable.  Is this stuff any good?

I've said it before, but if the Stones, Cohl and rs.com thought they could make money out of putting a tongue logo on the band members' turds, they'd probably do it.

No doubt there'd be enough fuckwits out there who would make it worth their while.

From that e-mail:
"Rolling Stones Forty Licks Merlot debuted backstage at the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concerts at Madison Square Garden last week. Served in the Artist Lounge, Hall of Famers and VIP's got a chance to sample the wine and the reviews are glowing."

Surely Jann Wenner gave it 5 stars...

Jesus fucking Christ. Have these people no embarrassment filter? I'd die of shame if I had to put my name to a mailshot as toe-curling as that.

Didn't Mick lose money on a stash of vintage wine he owned as an investment?  :blankfriggingstare1

Seems like I remember hearing about this a few years ago.

"The Rolling Stones are working closely with a group of passionate wine makers and die hard music fans.."

Hey! Did everyone miss this?

This PROVES the Stones have been 'working' together on something we didn't know about, as some people have speculated all along!

Great news!

I love the way he manages to link the wine to the Stones music and looks like he actually believes it .

"I wanted to work with a wine that captures the essence of what the Stones album was about..."

and

"(The 40 Licks album) is truly a statement of classic rock that is very much timeless..and Merlot, as a variety captures that as well.."

Although this one links the two just perfectly :

"Merlot has been around for a very, very long time (and)
some of the most expensive bottles in the world are Merlot as well.

I WOULD buy the damn RS wine because I enjoy drinking wine and I would save the bottle (after I empty it) because it's SO CUTE! Unfortunately, it is illegal to ship wine to New Jersey! Can you believe that bullshit?!How dumb is that? We have too many bullshit laws!

In this case, they are there to protect you from yourself.

Spending lots of money on a drink because it has the name Rolling Stones on it is simply fucking insane.

Not to be confused with being insane for paying $955 for a pair of tickets at MSG, not once, not twice, but 3 times! THAT is REALLY insane! Yeah I am completely OUT OF MY FVCKING MIND when it comes to the Stones, and I dont really give a damn because I would be happy to drink that RS wine and look at that bottle and if it makes me happy, at least I will be INSANELY happy! So will somebody please buy me a bottle of the RS wine? haha yeah right see I really AM insane to think someone might buy me a bottle of it! Cheers! Bottoms Up!

OK I accept! But it will be more costly for you to ship it to the US than to buy it, so no need for you to do that. But thanks anyway! I will, however, accept a glass of wine next time we meet! And I wont buy the RS wine even though I love those cute bottles! You cant always get what you want, a glass of wine in her hand whenever I hear that song I raise my wine glass in the air.  :booze because I dont drink beer! I dont like the taste of beer, and most people say they dont like the taste of wine, but I love wine, all types, from all countries. Italian wines, California wines, French wines, Australian wines, Chilean wines, it's all good!

Rules to choose a good wino according to the X-Pensive Winos

  • 1.- Any Wino is a good Wino as long as you get drunk
  • 2.- & As long as you have a light hungover
