Title: BB KING kicking ass in Paris (nsc)
Post by angelo misterioso on Jul 23rd, 2009 at 2:16am
Hi There
BB KING was in concert in Paris yesterday and kicked ass at age 83 .
Far from the embarrassing guitar playing of Chuck Berry or Mick taylor (seen recently at the New Morning in Paris).
1h40 min set , lots of talking betwen songs but the guy still can play , nice sens of humour too

Pics and a 7 min video of " everyday i have the blues" here :

Cheers

A friend gave me a couple of tickets to see him when I was on my honeymoon and I thought it would be a good idea to go because he was probably coming to the end of his career and it was a chance to see a legend.

That was 22 years ago.  Amazing he can still play so well at his age.

3 minutes of that video was all i could take...jazz just bores the shit out of me.  he sure is one old fat black man..he has to sit down to play.  for you fans don't take that as an insult, it's just an observation.  he needs to go on a diet

:wtf1

Platter, surely your asshole remarks are meant to be a joke right? BB King is a severe diabetic. Weight gain, even when eating all the right foods and working out, is sometimes inevitable when you have the disease. Hopefully you never have to deal with it.

BB is the King for a reason. Show the man the respect he deserves.

Saw him a few years back. Best live tone I ever heard. Great story teller as well.

I haven't seen Mick Taylor live. But I have seen video clips and heard bootlegs. Their is nothing embarrasing about his playing. Good for BB that he can still play live shows at 83.   But he's basicly no more than a novelty act at this point.

Saw him24 years ago in Hamburg, togehter with Luther Alison, it was amazing. And I had the same reason as gazza (nobody knew if it was his last tour). If anybody has the chance to see him live: get it!

He's fantastic! Clapton learned a lot of him, & Mike Bloomfield, it's great B.B. is still going strong, he makes Lucille sing.
