There has been much talk here and on the likes of IORR and Shidoobe regarding whether or not The Rolling Stones will ever embark on a World Tour again.

I am reading such things as ‘sources close to the band say this’ and ‘they could be hitting the road in 2010’ but what do fellow posters and contributors here think? Do you think they will tour again – or do you simply not know?

Personally, I think they will. I have no reason to doubt those speculating who generally seem knowledgeable enough. I don’t know whether we’ll see another mammoth record-breaking globe-trot, but I think we can get a more scaled down US, UK/Europe series of shows

Of course they will...if only to have the last "farewell tour"...that moniker alone is worth the price...but seriously...i always said they should just do 6 months in Vegas...and at least a month in NYC...LV...LA...a few weeks in Chicago, Boston, Miami, and ???

No road trips...being well rested between shows...surprises here and there...the lack of "touring" overhead alone would result in beau coup $$$$$$!!!!

mmmmmmmmm living in Utah, I dig the Vegas idea. I've probably been there 55 times and never get sick of it. I could stay there for a month and get tickets for 18 shows. :wtf3

What else will they do ?, touring is part of their life. I think that it will be a new album and tour on 2010.

i think they definitely will, but i cant see it being a gigantic ABB thing, i think it'll be spread over 3 or 4 years, ostensibly being like two tours but under the name, as someone put it, the "farewell tour", it would generate a lot of money over that period, and i think they might do a short residency in a lot of places,i cant see them playing huge 70,000 places, more an 'intimate' 5,000 - 10,000 arena thing but over a couple nights, in most big cities, i dunno it doesnt sound very stonesy all the same, so i dont know how theyre going to do it, there are a lot of hurdles, the U2 tour atm, with the 'brand new' stage, they need to get ronnie sorted out, and themselves - ABB was the biggest tour ever, how will they top themselves?

By now, any doubt that I ever had in my mind that the Stones are gonna keep going till they drop, is totally gone. I'm 100% they'll keep touring one way or another till something really bad happens, God forbid :Youmakeagrownmancrylikejoey They've kept it going for too long to stop it now.

The real question is: will our credit cards be able to keep going like our boys do? :aimama
