THE Rolling Stones’ Mick Taylor is one of two respected Blues guitarists playing at the Cavern next month.

Generally regarded as the unsung hero behind the greatest Stones incarnation, he will be joined by Stephen Dale Petit, whose Guitararama debut was voted Guitar Magazine Album of the Year 2008.

“Blues music is becoming more and more popular than it ever was,” says Mick.

“I'm always meeting people on the road who are really young and are guitar players.”

Stephen has shared stages with BB and Albert King, The Clash’s Mick Jones, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, The Pretty Things’ Phil May and Eric Clapton.

He says: “Mick was a hero of mine when I was a kid. His tone and fluid melodic lines made a huge impact on me.”

THE New Blues Crusade Tour visits The Cavern on Thursday, May 7.

Tickets for that Cavern show have been available now for a few months. I think jostorm is going.

i saw mick in a club the size of a bathroom years ago. 3 hour show....he played about 8 songs.

By the way, Gazza, Dylan was great in Sheffield last night, even through half of the time we were playing the usual "name that tune"-game again, give him just another year and even Modern Times songs will be totally unrecognisable, LOL. Can't find the Dylan thread, somehow, must be my jetlag...

I'd really love to see Taylor one of these days. Taylor-era Stones was lovely. He was a perfect complement to Keith, and a generous player.

The good news is that the shows in the USA will have some new songs from the upcoming album as well as Love in Vain, Stop Breaking Down, Ventilator Blues, and Here Comes the Rain this according to Jeff from the Mick Taylor Band

I see the Buffalo show is listed on Ticketmaster, as well as a BB King Blues Club show in NYC for July 23rd.

OMG This is a tough decision ~ MICK Taylor in NY and DYLAN's ballpark show in NJ are both on July 23! Crap I was all set to get the Dylan presales tomorrow morning but I'm going to reconsider since I've seen Dylan more times than Taylor. That ballpark gig sounded sweet tho. I wish MICK T would post more dates on his website, BB Kings isnt even on it! If I knew MICK T was playing Philly or somewhere else in the area, that would solve it. Did someone mention how many more show dates for Taylor?

What should I do, Dylan or Taylor????????????? :smile

Well I decided I'm a bigger STONES fan than Dylan fan, so I passed on the Ballpark gig and I'm going for the MICK TAYLOR gig in NYC. Ah well Dylan tours here more often. GotToRollMe you should get a Taylor ticket, on sale tomorrow morning 10 AM, it'll be great! I can meet you there if you go! $26 a ticket is good and cheap for Taylor!
