I know I've posted this story once....and I did get hell for it.

But anyway the last guitar I bought was a Walmart special, about 4 years ago. I'm not a guitar player....I just plunk.....but it's always nice to have a guitar kicking around the house. Just in case company (who can play) stops by. I don't smoke reefer either, but its always nice to have a bit on hand for the same reason. Anyway that guitar was the nastiest feeling thing I ever picked up. I gave it away. Sir Stonesalot was aghast that I bought a Walmart guitar. LOL. So I swore the next time I buy a guitar ....it will be a Telecaster. Maybe the cheapest one they got....but it will be a Telecaster. That Walmart guitar was like picking up a slimey, dirty ....... gawd that fucker was ugly......hate at first feel. I lost a hundred bucks but it was the best 100.00 I ever lost.

I.ve had a Fender Strat. for years, I love it, that's my main guitar for rock/blues, look at how many great rock musicians play a Strat compared to a Tele. (Stevie Ray/Clapton/Hendrix/Jeff Beck/Gilmour come to mind just of the top of my head)

I have a Tele, but rarely play it anymore. Prefer the Les Paul to all other electric guitars.

5. check thread. see no one has responded. spruce up thread with stupid youtube links that have nothing to do with anything.
6. think up names for dog
7. make peanut butter sandwich for lunch.
8. watch "judge judy".
9. start three more threads (TTh: include poll in thread for variety)
10. watch katie couric at 6:30.
11. brainstorm dumb comebacks for sway/starbuck
12. go to bed.

There are lots of things I like better about the Telecaster, but am opting for the Stratocaster here: purely for its sheer versatility – the array of styles and sounds you can get from the model is quite amazing.

Funnily enough, though. Prior to getting myself a 60’s Mexican Strat, I pretty much disliked the guitar: how wrong I could be.
