The Quo!
Since their beginnings way back in the sixties, they've divided opinion. The "three chord wonders" so to speak^ Whatever one thinks of their output, Live is where it's at! Live they are a monster, magnificent rock band. Two hours of uptempo, ChuckBerry-ish boogie, you can't beat it! On the eve of their Irish tour (February 1st, 3rd & 8th I'll be there!) - thought I'd introduce two excellent clips, to maybe introduce many here to the majesty of Quo. A household name o'er here, never quite made the big splash in the States - so here are two prime examples of a legendary rock'n'roll act. Those slagging off Quo - give these clips a glance, you'd be surprised how bloody good they still are: 'Big Fat Mama / Rock'n'Roll Music / Bye Bye Johnny Medley' (The Encore) http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=zYOLSxBlxIs 'Caroline' (The Quo concert Opener - Powerful stuff!) http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=mdWTfytYy-s Roll on Sunday Night in Killarney!! |

I never understood why they didn't have more of an impact here in the States. Time to pull out the Quo CD's at THIS house. :)

never really heard that much of them, except "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" which was a late 60's hit & also they were at Live Aid in London, & I remember they really rocked, do they still have all the original members?

I always wondered why they were popular in the UK.

Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt are to two remaining original members.
They had a couple of UK top-ten hits in the late 60's with Pictures Of Matchstick Men and Ice In The Sun. They then had a comeback in the mid-70's as a kind of boogie woogie, good time rock 'n' roll band - and they haven't looked back. My favourite is Whatever You Want |
