I'm grooving to the Grateful Dead's Dick's Pick's Volume 35, a couple of shows anchored by one from San Diego on August 7, and just before Pigpen had to quit the road the first time due to his liver illness.  Cassettee tapes were given to Keith Godchaux to help him learn the repetoire after he joined the band soon after, and wallowed in a box of his things for 35 years, some 25 after his own death.  

Despite his illness, Pig is featured in this set, and does ripping versions of his signature, Next Time You See Me, Hard to Handle, Big Boss Man, Lovelight, and one I'm not familiar with called Empty Pages, possibly a James Brown cover.  Also earliest versions I've heard of Brown Eyed Women, Sing Me Back Home, and Brokedown Palace.
