Title: O/T: METALLICA Live in Dublin's Fair City! Post by IrelandCalling4 on Aug 14th, 2008 at 4:07am
'Dia dhuit a chairde' (Howdy Y'all)
Metallica, the 2nd greatest heavy metal act ever methinks (after Megadeth, who were always better!^), are coming to our fair capital here next Wednesday. Saw them in '06 and '03, two blistering shows, and hopefully they'll play a few cuts from the forthcoming "Death Magnetic" opus in Dublin next week Has anyone here in StonesLand seen Metallica this summer? They did a few festivals I think, the set-lists look good, are the band on top form? Here's hoping they'll play "Battery" in Dublin, a scorching example of 'Tallica at their best! 'Slainte' |

Geez Platter. Chill man. Metallica isn't bad at all. I was never a huge fan, then I saw them open for the Stones in SF in 2006. They did a very good job. I have been getting into them ever since...For anyone else interested North American tour dates for the Fall/Winter have beeen announced. But no on sale info yet:

Glencar
The venue is 'Marlay Park', which is a bit of a bother to get to, as it's on the outskirts of Dublin. Pity they didn't play the RDS like they did in '06 and '03, that venue is perfect for access to the city centre. Anyway, roll on Wednesday and the return to Irish shores of Metallica!!! Old School Mule - the link was very cool, thank you!! Sounds promising, has the potential, from what I've read, to be a great Metallica album. I thought the last one was pretty damn good though, even if 95% of fans disagreed^ |

Well Gearoid!
How were 'tallica? Any good? Did they play any new stuff? Did they have any group hugs / group therapy sessions on stage? :aimama Did Lars pull loads of grimices etc whilst drumming? How was the trip out to Marley Park? You didn't meet any JoeDolan-mad Taxi Drivers? :blankfriggingstare1 You have to let us know!!!! :wow |

Dude!
'Tallica are on tonight, and, I think they are actually just across the road as I type - in the 'Merrion'! Lars will of course pull a million patneted grimaces on stage, I'm hoping for a group therapy session - Live - on stage!^ Meeting Donnchadh at 6:45, leaving it pretty late to get the hell out to Marley Park, but, 'Tallica are on at 8:15pm so hopefully we'll make it and get a good spot. I'll tell you about it tomorrow... |

Metallica, to use an oft-quoted saying, "rocked"!!!
They were brilliant I must say, they always are Live though. Fantastic show, 2 hours and 10 minutes of a journey through some of heavy metal's greatest moments. Their new song went up on the net yesterday - "The day that Never comes" - and, going by fan reaction today on boards, it's going to be massively popular. Heard it at lunchtime, loved it. Metallica will be back early next year (spring maybe), for another Euro Tour, and according to Lars, "indoors"! Here's hoping that it's a show or two at the Point Depot/02 Even got a lift home afterwards with Donnchadh & the gang, sound! |

Well besides the fact that I don't like 'em - I read some news that
for the record release concert in Berlin on the 12 September they will shell out tickets for 10,- €uros. :blankfriggingstare1 5 quid for the show at the London O2 on the 15th. you need to be a member of The Fan Club or Mission Metallica. http://www.metallica.com/index.asp?item=601111 got to give 'em credit for that. I wish this other band could think of something like that for their fans. |
