Gary Glitter to be Released From Prison: Lock up Your Kids (in Vietnam, at Least)
August 1st, 2008 by Ian Dransfield Hecklerspray.com Everyone’s favourite gang member, Gary Glitter, is to be released later this month, much to the delight of… seemingly no one. If you’ve wanted to be in his gang for the last three years, but have been wondering what in the blue hell has been going on - fret not! For Gary Glitter is going to be released from the Vietnamese prison where he has been held since 2005 on child molestation charges. Mark the August 19 in your diaries, devout fans and potential lynchmobs! But what’s going to happen to Glitter - real name Paul Francis Gadd - on his release? Will he be able to survive in the real world without the benefits of correctional facility-based hospitals? Or will he mount a very public campaign where he continues to profess his innocence, even when no one cares enough to listen to him? Only time will tell. Time that is, as well as an edition of People’s Police newspaper from this summer, where gangland Gary said he would continue work on an unfinished album once he was released. Yes, that’s right - Gary Glitter is aiming for chart success, mere years after being incarcerated on charges of child molestation. Some people just have no shame. And it won’t surprise hecklerspray to see that there are still fans of the weird-looking convicted kiddy-fiddler hanging around. They’ll be the ones with a copy of his new album in one hand and their genitalia in the other, most likely. Don’t let them in your homes or places of work - they smell quite bad. Plus, ignoring the dodgy aspects of their personalities, they’re also fans of Gary Glitter. Which should, frankly, be illegal itself. Come August 19 we must unite as one people and keep on a constant lookout for freakish-haired old men with faces slightly like those of a troll skipping through our fair streets. While we would never condone pre-judging someone or carrying out vigilante-ish justice, it’s probably in the best interests if the people of the world report any sightings of this convicted nonce to the nearest Skinhead Alliance, run by Barry “The Fist” McFist, offering detailed descriptions of his current position, movements and what speed he was travelling. They’ll handle the rest. While hecklerspray wonders what gang we actually want to be in right now, seeing as we clearly don’t want to be in “my gang,” let’s take in what Chu Xuan Mau, an official from the prison Glitter is currently held, had to say: “According to Vietnamese law, Glitter will be freed on August 19. The decision on his release will be read before him that day. It will be signed by the director of the prison.” And, unfortunately, we can’t really argue with him - he holds the keys. Probably. Maybe figuratively more than literally, but you get the point. Oh well - at least this means we can still legally makes jokes about Gary Glitter being into kids more than he should be. Better than most other celebrities, where we can’t even make half-hearted accusations. Bastards. |

I don't think so. The State Police have an internet sex offender registry online. A couple years ago some guy got the names and adresses of two sex offenders on line and he went to their houses and shot both of them dead. These guys were young guys having sex with their underage girlfriends and probably shouldn't have been on the registry anyway. |

er, yeah..having thousands of images of kids being abused on his computer is 'pretty fucked up' - which is why he was jailed in England to begin with. After he was let out, he spent a lot of time in places like Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam exploiting kids for under-age sex. Hopefully his return to these shores (if he sets foot in the place) will be mercifully short and painful. His popularity in the UK would be on a par with Bin Laden's in the US. |

Given that recidivism rates for pedos are alarmingly high, my guess is he will pick up right where he left off.
From the DOJ 1994 study: Sex offenders were about four times more likely than non-sex offenders to be arrested for another sex crime after their discharge from prison –– 5.3 percent of sex offenders versus 1.3 percent of non-sex offenders. Of the 9,691 male sex offenders released from prisons in 15 States in 1994, 5.3% were rearrested for a new sex crime within 3 years of release. Of released sex offenders who allegedly committed another sex crime, 40% perpetrated the new offense within a year or less from their prison discharge. Child victimizers Approximately 4,300 child molesters were released from prisons in 15 States in 1994. An estimated 3.3% of these 4,300 were rearrested for another sex crime against a child within 3 years of release from prison. Among child molesters released from prison in 1994, 60% had been in prison for molesting a child 13 years old or younger. |

I agree. I find sexual abuse against children is just as much of a crime as murder. (In some cases worse. Some who get murdered asked for it). A child who suffers sexual abuse never asked for it, never did anything to hurt anybody, but now they will have to live with it for as long as their life lasts.

Is there anywhere this creep could go? Who would take him? It would have been better if he was murdered in jail. He'll probably go to Haiti next.

Reports: U.K. Police Arrest Gary Glitter
08:01 AM Sunday 10/28/12 0| 1 | .The sex abuse scandal surrounding the late BBC children’s television host Jimmy Savile widened on Sunday as police arrested former glam rock star and convicted sex offender Gary Glitter in connection with the case, British media said. Police would not directly identify the suspect arrested Sunday, but media including the BBC and Press Association reported he was the 68-year-old Glitter. The musician made it big with the crowd-pleasing hit “Rock & Roll (Part 2),” a mostly instrumental anthem that has been a staple at American sporting events thanks to its catchy “hey” chorus. But he fell into disgrace after being convicted on child abuse charges in Britain and Vietnam. On Sunday, the BBC and Sky News showed footage of Glitter, who wore a hat, a dark coat and sunglasses, being taken from his home by officers and driven away. British police do not generally identify suspects under arrest by name until they are charged. When asked about Glitter, a spokesman said only that the force arrested a man in his 60s early Sunday morning in London on suspicion of sexual offenses in connection with the Savile probe. He remains in custody in a London police station, police said. Hundreds of potential victims have come forward since police began their investigation into sex abuse allegations against Savile, the longtime host of popular shows “Top of the Pops” and “Jim’ll Fix It” who died at age 84 last year. Most allege abuse by Savile, but some said they were abused by Savile and others. Glitter is the first suspect to be arrested in the scandal, which has raised questions about whether the BBC turned a blind eye to the alleged sexual crimes. It was not immediately clear if Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, and Savile knew each other. Glitter rose to fame in the 1970s with a string of U.K. hits and his look of shiny jumpsuits, silver platform shoes and bouffant wigs, but his music has often been shunned since his abuse convictions. In 2006, the NFL advised its football teams not to use the Glitter version of “Rock and Roll (Part 2)” at games. Glitter was jailed in Britain in 1999 for possessing child pornography, and convicted in 2006 in Vietnam of committing “obscene acts with children” – offenses involving girls aged 10 and 11. He was deported back to Britain in 2008. Police have said that though the majority of cases it is investigating related to Savile alone, some involved the entertainer and other, unidentified suspects. In addition, some potential victims who reported abuse by Savile also told police about separate allegations against unidentified men that did not involve the BBC host. The scandal has horrified Britain with revelations that Savile cajoled and coerced vulnerable teens into having sex with him in his car, in his camper van, and even in dingy dressing rooms on BBC premises. One witness told the BBC that she once saw Glitter having sex with a schoolgirl in Savile’s dressing room at the broadcaster’s TV center in the 1970s. Glitter has denied the allegations. On Sunday, the chairman of the BBC Trust said he was committed to finding out the true scale of the scandal to save the broadcaster’s reputation. “Can it really be the case that no one knew what he was doing? Did some turn a blind eye to criminality? Did some prefer not to follow up their suspicions because of this criminal’s popularity and place in the schedules?” Chris Patten wrote in The Mail on Sunday. The BBC has set up an independent inquiry into the corporation’s culture and practices in the years Savile worked there. It also launched a separate inquiry into whether its journalists dropped an investigation into the allegations. --Associated Press |

I don't know what's going on here, I was posting in reply to the Jimmy Saville post, now it's gone, but Jimmy Saville is probably heard about more in Europe then Canada & the States, he was MC (master of ceremony) for the Stones '64 NME Winners Concert & he was the guy who introduced the Bands & Artists in a film that was first called Go Go Mania, later it was called Pop Gear.
I caught this on the news he's one of Great Britain's biggest Sex Offender. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntYu-rC-qKA http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/9597158/Sir-Jimmy-Savile-was-a-predatory-sex-offender-police-say.html http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/10/28/former-british-glam-rock-star-gary-glitter-reportedly-arrested-in-connection-with-jimmy-savile-sex-abuse-scandal/ |
