I love the Beach Boys, though they're crap after the Holland album (which featured Blondie Chaplin on lead vocals of the single).
I listen to them often. Have bootlegs. The epitome of uncool. |

I've quite a few of their albums (lots of their cds are available as "2 for 1" which helps!) They can be quite patchy, but when they're good they're magnificent. I've pretty much all the albums from about 1965 up to late 70's, plus various compilations. Plus almost all the Brian Wilson solo albums, and a few studio boots. |

Mr. P: Is the new double disc reissue of Dennis' POB out down your way? Some of the bonus cuts are as good as the original album. Worth the re-investment! :areyoufuckingserious

My collection is BB-less. What would be recommended for a first buy - Pet Sounds? A greatest hits sampler??

Mine should be on the way in the mail soon...:) I have the original, but had to spring for the 2 disc reissue. I love the Beach Boys...some of the early stuff is very good, harmony wise. And from Pet Sounds on to Hawthorne, Calif, Surf's Up, Sunflower, 20/20, Friends...and Smiley Smile AND Smile....some really good stuff. Dennis was a unique talent--unfortunately overshadowed by the brilliant Brian. But his stuff is really good. |
