Title: Happy Birthday Ringo Starr Post by sweetcharmedlife on Jul 7th, 2008 at 7:25pm
On the occasion of his 68th birthday today, the great Beatle drummer Ringo Starr wants "Just more Peace & Love."
According to RingoStarr.com, the man is planning a global Peace & Love movement, and he's asking for a little help from his friends! Today, Ringo would like everyone - here, there and everywhere - at Noon local time wherever they are in the world, to join him in making the peace sign and saying, singing, shouting, whispering, signing, writing or quietly thinking one simply beautiful and universal message: "Peace & Love." "Wherever you are," says Ringo Starr, "Office, home, bus, tube, sitting, standing, walking, alone or with others, doesn't matter -- at Noon on July 7 make the peace sign and think, say, shout, sing 'Peace & Love'." Ringo will also appear on CNN's Larry King Live tonight |

Happy Birthday Ringo!
I had the pleasure of his company at The Taj Mahal in Atlantic City last week ~ June 28 ~ and he looks fabulous! Second row seats and I brought my teenage son who is a drummer ~ wanted him to hear one of the great drummers of our time ~ and I do believe Ringo's drumming style is classic all the way ~ he put the "class" in classic! Heres my clips! Enjoy! If I got a FOS ticket with backstage pass to see Ringo in the closest venue from home, probably I will rather trade my ticket and backstage pass for a beer and won't tell anyone who abused of me :blankfriggingstare1

That's George Carlin, not Ringo.
Voodoo, just remember he was good enough a drummer for the Beatles to kick a guy out of the band who had been with them for four years, since its inception. Plus, the guy's mother helped with their early business dealings. His distinctive fills (who else did them like that?) added to the band's signature sound, plus his quirky personality helped make the Beatles' magic. He was a funny guy who came up with important phrases like "it's been a hard day's night" and "eight days a week." |

perhaps a beatles fan here could say definitely which one but i like that quote attributed to either lennon or mccartney when it was suugested by someone that ringo was the best drummer in the world - "Best drummer in the world!!" he replied "hes' not even the best drummer in the beatles!"
i enjoyed his droll sense of humour |
