Quote from Craig Finn about opening for the Stones at Slane last year:
Did you get a kick out of supporting The Rolling Stones at Slane in 2007? "We didn't meet the Stones, but when Mick Jagger came out and 'We want to thank The Hold Steady' -- I've got to tell you, I got huge chills. I thought they were fantastic. I was standing down the front in the crowd. We enjoyed performing, but I don't think people go to The Rolling Stones to check out the support." http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/day-and-night/features/qampa-craig-finn--the-hold-steady-1427685.html |

Yeah, I've heard that most support acts don't get anywhere near the Stones.
You'd think they'd get their own "meet & greet" if only for a few minutes. |
