Title: Record Review - Rock n Roll Jesus - Kid Rock
Post by TenThousandMotels on Jul 1st, 2008 at 5:43pm
I've only breifly heard this record one time, but I've just borrowed it tonight. My impression from the first listen that other day when someone else played it, was that the Kid is kinda underrated. Anyway, after I give it a good listen I gonna review it or try. (whatever that means). I always ignored the guy. Maybe I was mistaken. We'll find out in the next couple hours.

Pick up the reissue of Nick Lowe's 'Jesus Of Cool'.

But wasn't that an (perhaps lame) attempt at some subtle humor? I don't think his intention was to ripoff.

Sorry. No I ain't ....too much work and I really have a short attention span. So far so good though. I'm stumbling between a 6 or a 7. Mood has alot to do with it. The sax on the New Orleans song was good. The session musicians would seem to be well paid

Yeah, could be.
Not subtle - or funny - to me though.

On the other hand, if ol' Warren went all 'Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner' on the Kid...  ;D

I'm sorry. It]' oK...but I should have trusted my instincts. For a moment I thought I might have found a great record. I guess I'll plug into some Old Stones and can the new Kid Rock. I'll give it a five....I like some of the songs. He did get to wed Pamela Anderson. I strive to be fair. Sorry about the false alarm.

Hey, if banging Pam Anderson is one of your entertainment criteria, check out some Mötley Crüe and Poison while you're watching Joanie Loves Chachi...

He's no Jesus but he is getting consistently better. His first couple of albums were crap but I can listen to his newer country and rock stuff.

Kid Rock didn't impress me too much awhile back when he tried dissing KR, by saying something like Keith was all washed up and He, the Kid, was the new sheriif in town ... or something like that.

I just plugged in Buddy Holly's Greatest Hits. And I must say it's more exciting than Kid Rock.
