Here we have a couple and they are nice, to be back for sure
We also have a couple of chains of restaurants "Mama Rosas" and "Mama Bella" that have Rolling Stones art and the menu includes some dishes with name of Rolling Stones songs, like Jumping Jack Flash az delicous beef "fajitas" etc TomL was there for a breakfast with me in 2006, instead of collectibles as the Hard Rock Café they have ART, original art like this mural by David Ávila |

Agreed. An old girlfriend of mine used to manage a Ruby Tuesday back during the eighties. I would have to be REALLY hungry to eat there. |

The food at chains like Ruby Tuesday is manufactured at some central location and trucked out to the franchises just like McDonald's.

Which is why it all has the same "taste." The consortium - Applebe's, Ruby's, TGIF, Bennigan's and 4 or 5 others - also have agreements not to dress the stuff up in similar ways or use the same geo-descriptors as adjectives. The only variant in any of them is what is on tap. Oh, and flair, don't forget the flair. |

I find their salad bar nutritious and delicious and if you get it to go you can stuff that box all day and they don't really care.

In chain restaurants, the food is pre-packed in plastic bags, individual portions ready-to-heat. Yum! You can taste the plastic at Bob Evans.

I always look towards such establishments if it
fits with the kid factor. If dining here gets us away from the dreaded golden arches while the kids were young, it's not a bad thang.... |

I don't like this restaurant chain. When the drink arrived at my table there was a huge slice of cake or pie at the bottom of the glass. The server must have been blind. He ever went to so far as to stick the straw into the glass and didn't realize he stuck it into the slice of pie.
I asked for another drink, minus the cake. |

My girlfriend worked at Ruby Tuesday's for over 12 years in both New York and here in Virginia.
I can tell you first hand that Ruby's is working to improve its image and distinguish itself from the other chains that everyone has mentioned. Their food is not pre-packaged as some have suggested. In fact, they went to great lengths over the past few years to get top quality provisions and some of the food is pretty tasty. However, it is still a chain and so you have chain issues. Just by way of example, last year they closed the store where my girl worked and she got a whole 5 days notice. They really treat their people horriblly. Unhappy people will never provide quality staffing, regardless how good the food is. |

I usually go to the chains based on proximity and service experience. If the beer is cold then I'm good knowing the food will always be a crap shoot.Like any multi location business the people make the difference.Nanky mentioned Rubys trying hard to be different. If they treat people like his friend their strategy is doomed.

i am all for that as i have no choice because all the places here in new paltz are pretty much ma and pop restaurants. a small pizza here when all is said and done comes to 11 dollars and that without a topping. this is freshly made pizza mind you. but i don't have a problem ordering from say dominos or pappa johns or pizza hut because they have those 5.99 deals with one topping and that is a pretty good saving right there. i think there might be a 2 dollar deliver charge, i am not sure. |
