Title: LC Ulmer
Post by polkdog on Jun 6th, 2008 at 11:17pm
Ok, I know the ChicaGO Bluesfest sucks, but you always find a diamond in the ruff.    He was outstanging.  This year it was LC Ulmer.  Anyone dig dis cat?  Anyway, I was sittin' there and overheard a couple of pro photograhpers and they never heard of him. You'd think they shoot festivals they'd know of him. Anyway, did I say he was outstanding?

polk, you're always so critical, lol
...and that's ok!

I was able to catch Pinetop Perkins briefly during my lunch break Thursday.
Too busy to get down there yesterday...
Going back this afternoon (weather permitting) to catch T-Model Ford - this old coot is NUTS!

oh, I like the blues fest but someone comment on how they didn't like it so I threw that in for shits and giggles.  not gonna make it today but I'll be there on Sunday, Tony Joe White is playing and I don't want to miss him, since that's where my "polk" came from.  and BB to close it out  out course.  seriously, you can't beat a free fest and you find new to me/you artists like dat Ulmer fella. ;)

I didn't know Jimmy Johnson played keys.

Didja make it?  T Model was on Sunday but with the schedules off due to rain, I wasn't able to fight my way up to get a good look.  I heard a hell of a racket from the stage though.

BB was great!!!

Nope - I stayed put Saturday.  I don't fair too well against a tornado!

I had heard they juggled the acts around because of the weather - and regretfully, I couldn't make it Sunday.

I was really looking forward to seeing ol' T - isn't he like 92 or 93 now?  You'd never know it, though...with his wicked, evil-self, lol.

Great pic of BB!  I've heard nothing but good things....  (as if I there was a doubt!)
