Title: baby and it hurts
Post by Last Piece of Meat on Jun 5th, 2008 at 2:31am
NSC.. seeking opinions on a delicate subject.. I know Rocks Off-ers come from all around the globe, so I'm hoping for some other perspectives on this.

I live in midwestern US, my wife is 8 months pregnant with our first boy, and as far as she is concerned, it is a foregone conclusion that the child will be circumcised (as am I, and probably 98% of the males either of us know).

I've read recent articles claiming that the health benefits (disease prevention) of the procedure are either inconclusive or insignificant.

So I feel conflicted over the idea of putting my son thru non-elective (for him) surgery for the reason of "well... everyone else has it done"... I've stumbled over enough online porn in the last few years to begin to realize that's not true.

Personally, I can't say that I regret it was done to me, but I don't know any different.

Anyone with kids gone thru this thinking, or it simpler just to go "like father, like son", and be done with it?

Also curious to hear female perspectives on the difference, as it relates to my son when he becomes sexually active.  I literally can't find anyone locally to have this discussion with..  "Hey Sally, you've slept with a lot of guys, surely one of them was uncut..."

Why are all americans circumsised? who started the trend? lol

i live in the uk, and no on gets its done, well dunno about jews, think they have a problem with it as well, i dunno, its decreases sexual plesure and increase chance of disease as you've stated, i dunno i'd say no , but thats cos its not his decision, tho i wont force my religion on my children, its theyre choice when theyre old enuff, well i dunno, u cud just do a ''for your own good'' thing

Weird first post, lol.

I'm from Switzerland and literally nobody has it done there. I had to get circumcised when I was like 17 because my foreskin was too tight (Which means it could get a bit painful while doing the dirty dirty). There's really no difference, except I last a little bit longer. The girls I know don't really care, since the foreskin slides back during an erection. Hope I helped somewhat.

I can think of little reason why the genital mutalion rituals of an Asiatic cult are so replicated in the Western World.  There is outcry of clitoral removal amongst African tribes---foreskin removal is not nearly so bad, but it makes no logical sense.

I was cut, and got both my boys cut too. I don't know how to maintain a clean cock with foreskin, and also knew it was better to have my sons look like me... which was my opinion, and then consulted with my wife. If you are prepared to deal with the taking care of afor the week after, then by all means, just go with your gut.
I named my sons, I made the decision on the cut and I will make a few other decisions that will effect them. They're the children, that God has let me raise!!!

Get the snip. I dont know any chick who prefers "the sock" to "the helmet". One of my best girl mates refused to go near a bloke with a dangly bit. Thought thats a moot point now as she's been married for ages. I got my son done too. It was done here in OZ when i was a born, but mostly stopped in the 70s & 80s. Mostly, only Jewish doctors will do the op. But, it's becoming more and more popular, and the young un's are sometimes getting it done in their 20's if they have to. My Grandad had to get cut at 60 years of age! He had some sort of complication. I think it split, but i aint sure.

Ah, well isnt this an interesting topic! Serious subject, I had my son circumsized since most men in the US have it done.  So I thought that was normal, until I went to bed with 2 European men who were not, one from UK and the other from Sweden. From a sexual standpoint, the fvcking is the same either way, but the sucking is much more enjoyable with a nice smooth helmet. Its cleaner, lol.

well, my sister has this friend, an Italinan fellow, so you would think he was catholico, but he's a born again freak (went thro the promise keeper fase and all).   this dude is trying to get in her pants so he tells her how c-cism is evil.  all that repressed memory and shit.  wtf, just do it and get over it.

Take a friggin' bath and use a sponge.  Somehow females manage to clean their genitalia and they have more folds, nooks, and crannies than a cock with foreskin.  Cleanliness as a rationale for circumsicion is pretty lame.

getting clipped is probably the most traumatic thing next to marriage

Thanks for the input.

Wasn't really my first post, I was Fadeout Freedom on the previous board (only about 70 posts there) but I fouled up or lost my password so I just started over.

I can appreciate all the reasons for leaving it intact, but I guess I'm still leaning toward the cut.  23 days to go!

YAY! Chop that sucker off!

And, you can always get a nice pendant out of it. Get it dipped in perspex or something.

You can re-register as that name if you wish. You've probably just tried to login under that name and password, which wont work as everyone had to re-register from scratch on the new board.
